Extended battery to replace 1400 mah Thunderbolt battery?

You can't compare apples to oranges. This phone has a brand new Processor. Until you get the phone, why would you want to make assumptions based on an entirely different phone? This thing tears the Evo up in performance but yet it has the same speed processor. The Evo is almost a year old so you can't compare different technology. And the same goes for the MT4g. I would wait and see how bad or good it is before dropping money on what could be not needed expenses.

What kind of life were you getting out of the 1400 vs the 1600?

Wel I don't own a MT4G or a Thunderbolt yet . But I do have an Incredible it comes with a 1300mah I use a EVO 1500mah battery and I get about 15-20% more battery life , I still have my stock battery and used t the other day and got 15hrs out of it (down to 12%) while today I'm at 10.5hrs and am at 58%

that comparassion doesn't mean much because of type of use but it's pretty similar to most times .

TB Snapdragon uses the newer/smaller 45nm manufacturing process ("2nd gen") as opposed to the earlier (also 1GHz chip) Evo 4G CPU. The EVO 4G Snapdragon is 65nm process and a "1st gen" manufacturing process. Comparing equivalent Snapdragons (there is a ton of them by the way) in the entire line up of chips between the 45/65 Qualcomm stated that this change provides a 30% lower dynamic power consumption and a much lower standby power as well. The battery capacity reduction from Evo 4G to Thunderbolt is only about 7%. This guarantees overall longer times between charge with the TB (of course under identical use). Adding an aftermarket higher capacity battery will be icing on the cake.

I've seen some rumored talk times for the TB but nothing firm. Since the Evo 4G sucked hopefully the TB wil at least be tolerable with the stock battery.

I bought the Thunderbolt the day it was released. The longest the battery has lasted before it went dead is 10 hours. On that day it was idle 97% of the day according to the app "watch dog". I text x 3, and made 1 phone call on it that day. I killed apps w/ the little green guy about 6 times in an attempt to determine if the apps running in the background was the cause of the battery drain. The phone may need to go back with this kind of battery life!!! not a happy camper!

Uninstall the little green guy. This phone has Plenty of RAM and unless the apps your killing are ones that you opened the Android system is just going to reopen them, so your chasing your own tail there . And the phone has a built in feature to show you up time versus awake time so no need for an app like watch dog, which is constantly running to monitor your system either.

Lol...10 hrs, I'm getting like 5 hrs, as are a lot other people. Some are reporting 18 hrs, 24 hrs, some forum member said 60 something hrs. Here's the thing, its a giant smart phone, with a big bright screen. The only thing that will help it is an much bigger mAh battery, like an 1800 or 1950. Similar to what Motorola is putting in they're new phones. 10 hrs is pretty decent, especially if its on 4G

I bought the HTC extended 2750mAH battery and have no regrets at all. Just took it on a trip and am grateful for the extra life I get out of it. I'm looking forward to the case market catching up, but they will... it's just a matter of time. It's a bit of a hefty phone, but I bought it for all of the reasons one might expect. So weight was no surprise. And the extended battery, while a little bulky, works great. Glad I bought it.
