Help Question for when the update comes

I successfully used the qdl tool to get 2.2 on my locked Streak. I plan, however, on using the official release when it comes in. When Dell/AT&T finally releases 2.2 for the Streak will I be able to update or do I have to downgrade back to 1.6 first?

If I have to downgrade back to 1.6 will a simple "Restore to factory" do it or is the process more involved?

Also, is there any point (i.e. will the released version be exactly the same)?

I have been trying for a month to upgrade, and I am just missing something. I have my device rooted and have tried the QDL tool, it gets about half way through the process and fails. I don't recall everything I have done, as I have tried a dozen times.

I rooted the device.
I downloaded some drivers and installed them.
I downloaded the QDL tool

Did you go from At&t 1.6 to O2 1.6 first (that I have not done).

A step by step would be wonderful.

As to your questions. I would just leave it "as is", At&t version of 2.2 will probably have some bloatware and shouldn't have any improvements. Once you get to 2.2, you should be able to do upgrades directly from the dell site.

At&t has yet to update any Android device yet, I am tried of holding my breathe. Because of their flap with Dell, I am begining to wonder if they will ever update the Streak.

I get this:

Ummm, that's not what I meant. At what point does the flashing process fail?

At the bottom of the post, I include the complete log. It runs for about 10 seconds, then the "Run HEX success" line appears and it freezes for about 5-10 seconds with no more output, then I get the error listed below

#DBL to DDR success
#FSBL to DDR success
#OSBL to DDR success
#DT to DDR success
#backup FSBL to DDR success
Run HEX success

Heh, don't know why I completely missed that...:eek: I put it in fastboot mode then wait a minute or two before attaching to my computer. Never had an issue that way. Also make sure both usb drivers are installed.
