Mali-400MP's traingles per second??

Hummingbird's PowerVR SGX540 can do 90M triangles/sec, but according to webpage for mali-400mp from Arm's website, it can only do 30M triangles/sec. That does not sound like the 5x performance samsung talked about. Then what am I missing to understand??

Naa, SGX540 gets 28M I believe, even so 30M still isnt much of an improvement, buts theres more to performance than triangles/sec.

Yeah I also read somewhere that the Exynos chipset has a quad core GPU, the Tegra 2 has an 8 core gpu. None of this means much until they can be tested side by side..

I'm not sure that's true, the Tegra 2 SoC (system-on-a-chip) has "8 cores" as you can see detailed below, but we are looking at GPU itself. Mali 400 MP is the GPU, not the SoC.

This is actually a little confusing.

that's two ARM Cortex A9 cores, an audio core, video encode and video decode - we're up to five at this point. The next processor is used for image signal processing. In other words it's the core that drives a still/video camera in a Tegra handset. The processor supports up to 12MP sensors, auto whitebalance, auto focus and general video processing on either a still picture or a video stream. The output can be routed to the next core: Tegra 2's GeForce GPU.

The powerVR 540 usually runs at 200 mhz so 90 million triangles is not accurate from what I have read. On the powerVR site, they say the powerVR sgx545 does 40 million triangles a sec!
But every site on the internet reported 90 million triangles for the sgx540 so it must be true (sarcasm)
I think how many pixels a sec the GPU can draw is very important too, not just the triangles a sec figure.
The Adreno 200 was listed at 22 million triangles a sec (good) but only 133 p/sec (bad) so that is why it is not very good at 3d games.
Where as the sgx540 was listed at 1000 p/sec, and in reality was probably 30-35 million triangles a sec.
I am only repeating what I read from the manufactures web sites, so if I am wrong blame them!
