OK so I picked my phone up this past Sunday and I'm in a happy place (snillville)!

The BB rep sold me a platinum case that was just terrible. Bulky, hard to take off/on, and really just plain ugly. So I drove to a few local att stores and there were really no accessories for this device at all. Except one lone last speck case. At first site I thought meh.... it wasn't a otter box. LOL But after purchasing it and trying it out for the last couple days I have a different outlook. This case is sleek, easy to get in/out of pocket, just grippy enough to not drop, and can be removed easily from device. So I have since returned the platinum case and really see no reason to purchase anything else.

att's overview:

CandyShell is a unique case designed by Speck with a thin hard-shell coating and a rubbery interior lining, bezel & button covers. No other case offers you shock-absorbing silicone and a smooth pocket-friendly hard shell protection in a one-piece form, making CandyShell the tastiest and most functional case around. Tasty!

I could not find this product on the Speck site. Only at the att stores and DayDeal.comSpeck CandyShell Case for HTC Inspire 4G, Gray/Black - HTC Inspire 4G Skin Covers.

The only thing I would like to see different about the case is the color. I would have preferred it to be all black. But seeing how I didn't really have any other choices gray will do.

Other than that this case is really nice. However I have not drop kicked it yet to see how it will really protect the phone. If I do drop it I'll report back here w/ the findings.

As far as the screen protection goes, I purchased my phone at BestBuy and it came with the lifetime Zagg screen cover for $10 dollars. If at anytime I need the cover replaced I just bring it in the store and they replace it (sweet).

Hope this helps anyone else who is sitting on the fence about this case. I recommend it!

I have the Candy Shell also and while it does add some bulk to it, I love it. Even the color is nice because after having a black one for both an iPhone and iPad, scratches become extremely noticeable on that color.

This is good to know. So the gray is not sooo bad. It's not that the gray is an eye sore, I'm just use to the sleeker black look.

This would be nice if they made the grip version....

Yes! All the buttons have a nice rubber cover one for the volume rocker and one for the power button. It actually enhances the buttons nicely!

Cool.

Right now, I have the Best Buy Platinum case for it, which I like just fine so far; though I suspect that it wouldn't be all that great if you dropped it from a fair height.

I ordered the Speck from AT&T online with a 25% off promotion that should be here Monday.

I used to have a Speck case for my iPhone (can't remember if it was a "regular" Speck case, or the Candy Shell), but I seem to remember that it was a bit more difficult to get out of my pocket because it seemed to grip it a bit too much (the Platinum case is very easy to slide in and out of my pocket).

Guess I'll return whichever one I like less.

I had the speck candy case for one day and returned it. It was too bulky! I'm now rocking the 4$ case from eforcity website and I gotta admit it is awesome!!! It barely ads any bulk at all and protects the phone perfectly. The cutout holes in the back lined up perfectly. And the volume rocker is more independent because the case creates two soft mounds for them. No more wondering if im hitting volume up or down. I

this made me LOL.
this is one of the cases i'm considering getting. i enjoy using Speck's products. i have a candy shell for my iPod touch and it's fantastic.

I try... Why not have a little fun while were here.

Dylan this is my first speck product and not sure how they hold up. How did your iphone product stand up to time?

@ workslate glad the thread helps! :D

Which one? Is it really as good as the Speck? I like the Speck but it does add some bulk.

Speck's face layer is made out of rubber... Main problem with the speck case: theres a big lip on the face rim causing dirt to collect and reside there.

I actually like the lip, gives the screen a bit more protection. I'll probably order what you have just to compare. Especially for only 4 dollars.
