is there a one click root APK???

well the last time i rooted there was a 1 click root apk that rooted from the phone not a pc does such an apk still exist for 2.1 build 2.0.a.0.504 baseband 2.0.46
i wanna change my phone to global generic from uk generic as uk generic doesn't seem to have the dual touch bizzo yet... i have nordic on another handset but i want to retain the play now and not have any of the other nordic stuff so i figure global is probably the way to go?

i know what lines of code i need to change but without root i can't alter them..

Is there one that works now after you've done the official 2.1 UXP update?

Thanks alot you 2, i managed to root changed it to global and have done the update, if the phone had been like this from day 1 then i would of been happy with it 10 months ago lol.. love the mediascape revamp (not bothered about missing animation) landscape mode and new layout is a massive improvement and the swipe fast forwarding in videos is a nice touch too.. at last SE did something productive with this thing..

Glad to hear that it worked for you to,I got rid of all that mediascape stuff,im using feex10 beta 4,Im hurting for a good camcorder though.Battery is ok,but a fair quadrant drop from beta 2 and 3 !

Yes it'll work for the 2.1 that most of us got. but SE just released a UXP update to 2.1 to include multitouch and other stuff and have closed off Root Access and thus Z4Root no longer works.

yeah its only dual touch though but better than nothing works in browser angry birds and a few other things, i'd just like to find all those that said to me no it can't be done hardware won't allow it lol muppets, i got so sick of posting links showing mt working on resistive screens etc... the guys who figure this stuff out on xda should be the ones working for companys like se not the fools that they currently employe.
but unfortunately thats the way of the world, im willing to bet everyones had a boss at some point who knows less than them, ass lickers posers and credit takers are everywhere.

SuperOneClick seems to be the only one that works after that update. It's the one I used anyway and it worked fine after I rebooted my phone.

For xRecovery, make sure you install the version of Busybox from the Market over the version SuperOneClick installs.
