Get an Optimus 2X or wait for Atrix/GalaxyS2?

Hey there,

I'm considering getting an Optimus 2X as my Hero sadly is no longer with us

Do you guys think I should wait for the Atrix or another dual core phone, or should the Optimus 2X be as good as these other devices?

Also, where can I order/preorder in the UK/Ireland?

All of the devices you mention are going to be great in differing ways.

The 2X will probably be the cheapest with the quickest delivery.

I think I might preorder next week. I dont see a point in waiting for the Optimus 3D or Atrix, because by the time they come out, Quad Core phones will be just around the corner...

What a good choice. I'm sure you/I/we wont be disappointed.

It`s a perpetual problem when to jump in, there always going to something faster on the horizon. I reckon were about to see a real blurring of the division lines between net book, tablet and mobile in the next year.


In the next few weeks I suspect the 2X will be anounced on a more carriers.

I think I've decided on getting the Optimus 2X now, seems to be a good price considering the tech, and should be a capable device for at least a year or two.

You recommend ordering from Expansys? Have you dealt with them before?

I and Batfink (I think) have ordered from expansys, but I've ordered one on contract with vodafone, so I'm not sure how that will work out, but I've read that they are a very consistent and good online store so I would feel confident preordering from them I can't wait to get mine

It might not be for everyone but if expansys have set it to march 21st then it probably will be shipping then, but they have changed it before so we don't know yet

Just for your information, german Amazon just sent out mails to those who preordered the LG 2x stating that they estimate it to be shipped from 16.3-1.4, considering it is Amazon it could be very well be shipped a lot earlier

The date at Expansys has changed several times then a few days ago was removed completely now it's back on for the 21st.

Expansys's customer service has always been good in my experience. Play is the only online retailer i've had trouble with, I had to get pissy with them over an xbox accessory but i'm not afraid to quote the distance selling act or sale of goods act.

Hmm, I'm waiting on the refund to come back from my Nexus S cancellation, so hopefully thats back next Monday, so I'll probably order then
