Activation questions

I'm getting this phone for my G/F and would like her to be able to play around with the phone a bit before activating. This is her 1st smartphone, so she needs to be relatively comfortable with it before shutting down her old cell phone.

That being said - what can/can't she do once activation is bypassed?

Will the WIFI work? Can she d/l free apps?

This is going to be a huge change for her - she really wants a smartphone - but she needs to feel sorta warm and fuzzy about the thing b4 killing her old phone

you can do anything except use the cell radio (text/calls/data) you can use wifi and link your google account to download apps (think pda)
