Root Question about divorcing EB01 kernel from EB01 ROM

I'm running EB01 and would like to install a kernel that allows for the BackLightNotification app to work. Right now, there only seem to be a couple:

Supported phones by BLN (official list)

One of them is the voodoo with lag fix, etc. Anyone know if (1) this will work on EB01, and (2) the best way to flash it? I used to use ROM Manager, but it doesn't seem to work on my Fascinate.

bln is not possible on froyo for us atm because source code has not been released by samsung (and wont be until after the ota) so the only "mod" that can be done is voodoo...and we're fortunate to get that

Thanks for the info, and apologies for posting this question as part of a separate thread.

So which voodoo kernel could I install, and what's the best way of doing it without ROM Manager?

[KERNEL] EB01 Voodoo - xda-developers

thats the only voodoo kernel (stock with/ ext4)...put it on your sdcard...boot into cwr...wipe cache and flash....if you had voodoo on 2.1 and disabled...make sure to delete your disable_lagfix file from sdcard/voodoo....you should hear robot lady and your on your way

Sorry to keep bothering you with n00b questions (I did everything through ROM Mgr back on the Droid) but when you say "Put it on your sdcard" do you mean the whole zip file, or specific files within it? I'm not sure what cwr is going to want to look for.
Yes the entire zip file. Unlike the Droid line up ROM Manager isnt quite right for us. I dont even have that app installed. We just have a modified cwm. Most of us merely DL whatever zips we have/need and then yes put them on the sdcard and then install via clockwork.
