Help me pick out a new phone :D

It's that time again! My 2 year contract is up and I want a new, awesome phone :D help me pick one out! I'd love to hear your opinions/views.

Does anyone know of some upcoming Verizon phones? I don't want to rush into getting a new phone, and then the next week some AWESOME phone that I want comes out & I can't get it.

I'm having a really tough time debating if I should switch to Apple & just get the iPhone. I really like the customization of Android, I think iPhone is kinda plain and boring honestly.. I was kinda I really want a HTC phone, anyone know of some coming out?

I want to hear any opinions you have on some of the new phones out & the ones that will be coming out.
Thaaankkkyoouuu :)

Hard to make a recommendation without knowing what is important to you.
You say you like the customization of Android, but how much customization are you looking at? If you are wanting full access to your phone you may want to knock post Droid1 Motorola phones off the list along with the iPhone.

What size screen? small(>3.5"), medium(3.5"-4.0"), Large(4.0"-4.5") HUGE!(>4.5")

What is more important to you? Low cost or top quality?

I want a top quality phone, preferably with a physical keyboard but I know a lot of the new phones don't have one. Basically I want a phone that hasn't even come out yet cause I don't really love any of the ones that are out right now. And definitly a phone that can be rooted. Large screen is good but I don't need one as big as the Droid X. And an HTC phone is probably going to be what I go for. Sorry for the lack of information I pretty much just wanted to know all the phones that are going to be coming out and then I can go from there.

Thanks! Will 4G have good service? I have basically no service where I live.. 2-3 bars at most at home. Just asking cause 4G is new to Verizon
I know nothing beyond what I read about the Thunderbolt, but it does have all the gadget types heads spinning in anticipation. The link in my first post lists "all" of the currently known "coming soon" phones for VZW. The Thunderbolt does not have a physical keyboard. The phone will work in 3G areas, but whether it is a good purchase for someone who is not in the near-term 4G coverage areas, IDK.

All of the Moto phones to date have been rooted (AFAIK... I haven't seen the need for mine, so I have no experience with that). The issue with Moto is whether it will be possible to load a fully custom ROM. Moto has said things out of both sides of their mouth on that, but indications are Moto has been trying to lock down their boot loader so you cannot load a fully custom ROM. IDK if they have been successful with that; I don't really care, either.

No need to apologize. Just wanted to know what your idea of an awesome phone would be. Mine would be a 5-6" AMOLED screen with a trackpad, but no physical keyboard. A dual core processor. >/=768mb RAM and all the other bells and whistles.

Sounds like you are in the same situation as me. No one has the phone I want.
I do not think you are going to find many options with a physical keyboard on the list. I too am a fan of HTC. The new Thunderbolt seems like a good phone to buy, but if you want the latest and greatest--you might want to wait until the summer.

Wonder if VZW will ever get something like the Atrix. Kinda expensive, but, MAN! Combination phone and netbook with good keyboard and screen dock device. Would not need a tablet at all. Now if we could just make calls on the Xoom.

If you move to the UK you can make/receive calls on the Galaxy Tab. Word on the boards is that it you can do it in the US too, but is more difficult.

There's tons of videos on Youtube now reviewing the Thunderbolt. I've pretty much watched all of them. It's a nice phone but it's nothing I haven't seen before on HTC phones, kinda disappointing. Only new things are Skype, 4G, and that you can change the skin of the status/notification bar. All things I don't even care about (cept 4G, & I don't even have 4G where I live I looked at the coverage map).

I'm in a rut cuz my LG Ally is bricked.. but thank goodness I can get a phone at 2yr contract price. If not I'd be screwed & using my first vzw phone, a RAZR, LOL, for a whhhilllee. I just have to make a decision quick & it's so hard. Or I either wait for my "awesome" phone to come out or get one now & possibly regret it later -____-

I do not think you are likely to regret a purchase of the Thunderbolt in the next 12 months... I believe it will still be a top end phone until Q1-2 2012.
