I'm going to try my best to show you how your GAL(Global Address List) should look for you to get the most out of active sync with your Android Phone. The pics I'm going to post will be edited to keep some info private. Please do not hammer my editing skills :)

Please take a look at the pics below
1. Open Outlook that is connect to your Exchange Server on your work PC
2. Open a new email
3. Click the To.. button
And you should see the GAL and it should look like the pic I have below
With Name Title Business Phone Location
If it does not look like this then the Exchange Admin needs to add more user info. In order for you see it on your phone.

When a new user is added to the Exchange Server add all the info you can.
The more you put into the contact information the more the users will get out of it.
Example: If you put the address in the address field when the user syncs with the exchange server on the users phone the user can look up the contact and then the user will see the address and be able to just tap the address and the MAPS screen will pop open

I have all that in Outlook. I can search the GAL when I Compose an email from the Android email application. I only get back an email address that I can add to the TO: line, nothing else. I would like to do the same from the Phone app, getting a choice of mobile or other numbers as they are entered in the GAL. The only things I get to search are my Personal Outlook contacts, my GMAIL, Facebook, Yahoo, etc. but no GAL.

I am syncing contacts, calendars, and emails.

I have no idea what to tell you other then it works great for me. Let's hope you get the update to 2.2 and that fixes your problem. Good luck

Hey guys........ I need some help on GAL....

I am trying to fetch the picture form the GAL.
When in the compose message screen, I enter the name in 'To' field, i got the email ids of all the names for which i have enter the characters.

This email app is doing GAL look up with 'Search' command/Protocol.
Now with the email ids, I want to fetch the photos also from the GAL.

Can any one help me how to do this?

Thanks..... Looking for the reply....
