New Android user looking for an app...

I just started using Android this week, and I need to transfer some work-related "notes" from my old iPod Touch. So far as I can tell, the easiest way to do so would be to e-mail the notes to myself from the iPod. However, I cannot find a notes app that can import from e-mail. I've found several that can import from SMS, but not from e-mail. The largest of these notes is a list of the IP addresses, locations, and models of 100 networked printers at my workplace, which would take a few hours to retype in Android. Any help would be much appreciated!

I use Evernote. You can email notes to Evernote and they place them in your notebook. There are desktop apps, web access as well as smartphone apps.

With Evernote, can I edit the note from the Android app? Like when a new printer is added to my area, I need to keep track of all of them.

Yes, you can access and edit your notes from any platform. They are then synced to the other platforms.

I use it from storing entire documents to keeping a shopping list that I edit daily.

I just did some research on Evernote... According to it's website, in order to access these notes offline (or at least, to use the feature known as "offline notebooks") on mobile devices (Android included), you have to have the Premium account, which is $5/month.

I saw elsewhere that someone recommended an app called GDocs, which syncs with Google Docs. However, I read some recent reviews... Apparently it has become extremely unreliable, stripping all formatting from documents and often overwriting the wrong file... Is there anything else that does teh job without destroying your data?

How about creating text files for your notes and putting them in Dropbox. It works on or offline to store the files. When you are back on line just Sync with all your computers and phone when you like.
I'm actually a bit confused. Are the text files. .txt format? Those should be easy to shuffle around with something like Dropbox. Its just online storage assessable from any device. Once everything is synced you can use it offline.

Not sure if that is what you are looking for.

Actually, I had completely forgotten about Dropbox... I dont believe that they are .txt files, but I have no way of knowing because the iPod Touch can only access them through its own GUI, and can only be exported via e-mail, where it appears as text in the body of the e-mail. Provided that Dropbox works as you describe, that should cover my needs well, because I can simply copy-and-paste the text from the e-mail on my PC into a .txt file in Dropbox. I'll give that a shot and post an update here.
