Tbolt delayed until 28th?

I dont know if any of you guys heard or read anywhere but the thunderbolt has been delayed yet again! I work for best buy and our verizon rep came into the store yesterday as well as sent an emailing say that the thunderbolt has been delayed until the 28th but this should be the confirmed release date!

She also stated that she heard from other reps that skype mobile will no longer be on the phone at all. She isnt sure if its a problem on skypes side or verizons or htc. Now this she wasnt 100% sure on but atleast what she told us!

Just wanted to let everyone know if they already didnt!

Thanks for the info, but I am going to choose not to believe this so I do not go insane. I was at Best Buy's door at the 14th and was dissapointed. I just now put in a pre-order for the phone in hopes of getting it on the 24th. The 28th is the exact day I leave NYC and fly out to Florida for a week and I wanted the phone for the trip. Also I will lose out on my pre-order since I will be gone a week...

Is there any talk of extending the free buyback? That's the only reason I preordered at Best Buy instead of ordering through Verizon.

You can't believe reps. They never know first hand. If suddenly your store order was cancelled that would be different but everything else is hearsay.

They are not extending buyback as far as we know. There has been no talk about it, but Im sure they will discuss it because this was a big thing that everyone wanted with the thunderbolt!

I know I dont want to believe my rep but she hasnt lied to me before, but on the other hand the Thunderbolt release date is a sensitive subject right now so I hope she is wrong!

Just letting you guys know what she told me and my employees thats all.

OK, I am not going to believe nor disbelieve this. What I WILL say is that BB better damned well treat my purchase as the date that I pre-ordered. I don't care if it is released in december, but they better give me my free buyback program.

Also, what of the fact that the sunday fliers have already been printed? Someone would lose a TON of money on reprints.

That's odd, because my store's Mobile Manager talked to our Verizon rep yesterday and he said nothing about a delay. In fact the phone's in the ad for this week and our instock date is still 2-21-11, so Yeah...I take it with a grain of salt

Well that is odd because I am just telling you what our rep told us. Maybe they both heard or didnt hear the same thing. When I go into work tomorrow I will get the email and show you guys on here.

The adds change all the time and are constantly reprinted. Anyone who works at bestbuy can tell you that! Ads are printed up to 6 months in advance because of the high volume of how many they produce.

Like for instance when the incredible was listed as $99 the one week it was still free in store. The ads are usually wrong because of how many changes happen after they come out.

I used to be one of the designers who worked in Dicks Sporting Goods Corporate office. Not to mention a decade of commercial printing pre-press. No, tabs are not reprinted with the effort of a *fart*. ESPECIALLY on the friday before the sunday deliveries.

I think pre-orders done this month, plus a printed advertisement will be compelling evidence to force the free buyback on the TBs.

The ad doesn't say "coming soon" that is why everyone is pointing to the ad as a confirmation.

I have my form and my dated receipt. They better damed well honor the date that is on my receipt.

On the 13th I extended my contract and decided to pickup an Incredible so I could get use to the UI before the TB is released, I came from an original Droid. I got the buy back program free. So, let's say the TB does come out on the 28th and I go in to exchange it for the TB (I pre-ordered) will the free buy back be included or will they make me fork out the $70?

They should have given you a copy of the form you filled out with your name and phone number. You may want to get back to your BB and get that form.

I spoke to my Verizon rep yesterday and I said that he does not know anything and that anyone else knowing is BS. Once it's in the wild they all know. I say that until Verizon tells it to all, nobody knows for sure.
