Root EB01 high % time without signal?

Been spending so much time screwing around with EB01 lately that I never really gave much of a thought to reception or battery life, but lately I've noticed that I typically get anywhere from 10-20% (and sometimes as high as 50!) without signal in an area where I previously had no issues (<4% time without).

Is anyone else experiencing anything like this? I can't recall missing anything or not being able to place calls, but the reported amount of time without signal is quite worrisome - could it be misreported? I've tried wiping data, cache, and dalvik several times and nothing seems to make much of a difference.

EB01 modem, EB01 stock deodexed, EB01 voodoo kernel w/ lagfix.

I'm not sure if the PRL gets affected during changes (Still on a DJ05 rom myself, iffy about making the jump at the moment), but have you tried *228 and updating them (option 2)?

Yeah I tried that once, wasn't on the same ROM long enough to see for sure if it helped. I'm actually fairly convinced that it's just fluky reporting or insufficient time unplugged to be accurate at this point as I haven't ever noticed any interruption in services and the battery life doesn't reflect a phone constantly searching for signal even when the status page reports it as such.

Followup on this - even with a complete Odin re-flash of EB01 I'm still getting an even 50% "time without signal" report about half the time after unplugging. I'm chalking it up to fluky reporting as battery usage and life are both good. It's still annoying, but oh well. jt's AOSP vanilla 2.2 does not have this issue (although the battery life is much worse anyway )

I read a post over at XDA about this, put your phone in airplane mode, reboot, and let it set in airplane mode for a few minutes then turn airplane mode off. I don't know what it does but it does lower the time without signal, and improves battery life a little.

I have to wonder if this is an issue with the EB01 modem file? I finally figured out where to see this statistic and, unfortunately, even after putting it into airplane mode, rebooting, and taking it out of airplane; I'm seeing 41% time without signal in 4 MINUTES.

I was wondering the same thing about the EB01 Modem.

I may be wrong but the % of time without signal is measured from the time it is unplugged or rebooted. So the longer you wait the lower the number should be.

Also if you having battery issues try this, Adry's batt fix

Thanks, this seems to have done the trick, at least for the first attempt. We'll see about subsequent ones.

At house, I'm always 0% without signal, so when I notice bars jumping from 0 to 1 to 2 and back, while at home, I typically pull the battery as I know there are issues. Fixes it for me.

I'm definitely seeing some oddness with the EB01 modem...before the upgrade, I was having zero problems. Now, calls are going directly to VM because my phone has lost signal. My signal indicator switches back and forth between 1x and 3G, even though the signal indicator shows 3 of 4 bars (signal strength shows -83 dBm). Very funky.
