Help Question about the stock HTC news reader widget

I like the stock news reader widget, but I have one gripe. It doesn't seem to show the small article pictures on the widget interface unless I actually go into the news reader app and then back out to the widget. If I update the news widget with the button at the bottom, it never displays an image with the article. I checked all the settings and can't seem to find an option for this.

I use this as well but I have the thumbnail pics. Maybe there is a setting not right ?

Mine updates by itself at the alone time but even when I do it yes I get the pics

Well I just manually updated and a new Kotaku article showed up, no pic. I click the arrow on the tip right and it takes me into the subscriptions interface. I back out and then the pic then appears in the widget. I must be missing something!

I have, many times. I'll check again. I know its something silly, but hey, the pics make it look cooler than just a wall of text! heheh

Yes, mine is the same. I tried both settings. I don't see any other options that could affect this. I know its purely cosmetic, but its just annoying me at this point.

Does anyone else use the stock HTC sense news reader and the pictures don't show up when the articles update? I will feel better if I know I'm not the only one.
I have kotaku, gizmodo, Ars and yahoo Nhl scores added to my feed if that matters.

I'll try the battery pull Andrea, thanks. (What does that do, exactly? memory flush?)

Also, I just want to make sure you guys understand my (silly / cosmetic) issue. I DO get images in the widget, but only if I access the main news app via the ">" icon on the top right. When I back out of the app and return to the widget, the images all of sudden appear in the articles when they were not there before.

Just to clear that up if there was any confusion. Roll your eyes all you want, I want my images! hahaha

Also, can anyone else confirm their widget is ok? Thanks guys.

Battery pull is basically a soft reset

I don't have pictures either, heh!
Even when I back out after hitting the > I still have none, I've never noticed. Maybe you have to subscribe to the news from.the widget to get them let me try that.

I added the news that comes with the news reader and none of them loaded any little thumbnail pictures, I did a battery pull and still nothing. Hmmm...not sure what is up with that. lol

OK I found my issue, not all feeds have a little thumbnail pictures, not even all news stories with in those feeds have them either, at least not on mine

Ok, I just checked my widget and it auto updated with some new stories. They had pictures without me needing to go into ">" first. Some stories did not though. I was able to go into the news app, refresh and come back out and the "missing" pics filled in. Soooo, it, sort of works? Oh well. I'm just going to let it do its thing and not let it bother me.

Hell, the news is about READING words and not trying to make out tiny pictures.

If I update the feed manually it do not get the pics next to the text, if I let it auto update I do get the pics, pretty weird. mine is pulling from Gizmodo, maybe it depends on what feed we're pulling from. Both Gizmodo and Kotaku are Gawker sites, so maybe its related to that.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I've got both of those feeds as well. I guess ill keep an eye on it see if I can notice a pattern.

BAH! I give up with this Widget! I updated this morning, then went into the actual News app, then came back out. I was amazed to see that the widget stopped displaying the feeds. It says "No Subscriptions Found. Tap to add subscriptions." =( I think I'm just going to use an app instead of relying on a widget.

So weird, I did notice that these widgets worked better on my Desire than this phone. For the life of me I can not get my friend stream widget to auto update. I've tried everything including 2 different phones.

I have abandoned the stock news app and widget. I am using gReader pro and loving it. Awesome awesome news app. It feels like it should be a stock app the way its designed.
