Help Future updates

This has probably been covered before but I'm fairly new to the Android scene (so I would'nt really know).

Will the GT540 be getting updates in the future? Such as 2.4 when it comes out? Or will this just be stuck on 2.1?

Most likely not, due to the hardware of the phone, most phones that come with 2.2 or 2.3 have way higher specs than the GT540 , for example, to use the roms provided here, you wold need to overclock the phone because with it's default speed (600mhz) 2.3 it's just SLOW, laggy, i overclocked mine to 844mhz

Well will it still be able to run apps that come out in the future? And by future, I mean over this year and probably till this time next year.

I buy a new phone once per year, so if the GT540 can at least run sapps and such for that amount of time, I'll be fine.

Apps yes , most Games no, and forget about flash too , HD games won't run in it , and we will not get flash support because the Qualcomm MSM7227 inside doesn't support it

So what requires Flash to run?

I'm mainly just a Facebook user when it comes to online things and not much of a gamer or a watcher of Youtube. So I guess this phone is good for me if that's what I like/do?

A short list of some of its features would be helpful too. If it's not too much trouble.

Well it sounds like the perfect phone for me then. Will Flash be a possibility in the future though? Or is there a subsitute for Flash? I heard about an app the acts like a Flash player for Android phones on 2.1 and below.

There will be no flash, the chipset that the phone have it's not compatible with flash, flash lite which i think it's the app you mention doesn't provide full flash support
