Help Messages Avatar -Solved-

Okay so I was wondering in the default messages application how to put your own avatar in for threads.

eg. When I send a message, I get a grey box - Me:<message>

Can I replace the grey box with my own avatar at all?? I would have thought it would have taken my linked gmail avatar or something.

AFAIK, it should be your gmail pic. Try changing it on gmail, see if it pushed through a change ?

I just added my own phone number to contacts as Me and added my picture.

I think that was before 2.2
Now it gets it from your phone number or such

The problem was that the phone would not recognize my number off the sim card and was "unknown"

Using an iPhone I writ it to the card.
(Settings > Phone > Phone Number?)
Entered Number and Saved.

Then you would make you own contact and such (which I had already.)

I have the u8150 & my daughter in another town has an iPhone 4. I phoned her to ask if I could use her iPhone to write my number to my sim card, when I next visit her. She said the the iPhone uses a micro sim card.

How did you fit a standard size sim in the iPhone?
or is there a work around that you used?

The u8150 is my wife's phone, I bought a ideos x5 for me & find that I have the same problem.

One other thing that annoys hell out of us, is that you can't use a mp3 for message notification, you are stuck using the real short built in sounds.
Have you found a work around for that?
