Root in need of serious rooting help

im new 2 android (2 weeks)
tried rooting my phone to no avail argh!!!!!!!!!!!!
in the process my droid has created a secure android file with all my apps on the sd card and now i cant open the file on the handset or on my laptop can someone talk me through this

what were the problems you had with rooting, where you using unrevoked?
