Nothing seems to work in RC1. Can't call, or do most of the basic functions. Very disappointed. I've wiped and flashed 5 times to no avail

Do not use ROM Manager for this do it manually

Download the latest nightly. #38 I think it is.

Download this --> http://goo-inside.me/cm/inc/rc/updat...Inc-signed.zip

The MD5 to RC1 should be d41522f45d1e21dc2c14f75fe85ec978

You can dnld MD5 calculator to your PC for free. Make sure they match

Do a nandroid backup of your current ROM setup.

Do a full/complete wipe (data, cache partition, and dalvik)

Flash latest nightly. Reboot and let it boot up. Go through the setup.

Reboot into recovery. Flash latest GAPP's (if you want)

Reboot and get to homescreen.

Reboot into recovery and wipe ONLY cache partition AND dalvik cache.

Flash RC1.

Good luck.

I installed RC1 and it seems very fast + smooth. Very similar to the nightlies, haven't noticed anything really different. I flashed right over build 38 without wiping anything.

Linpack scores are pretty fast at 39's and quadrant jumped up to 1410. The phone also seems to be running very nicely. Can't comment on battery life but I will be able to after tomorrow.

No worries. Got it all worked out after a few more tries ;)

I get no service whatsoever with the RC, and I get force closes all over the place, the settings menu force closes, messaging force closes, and the dialer force closes so I can't even try to call *228. Anyone else have these problems?

Had the same issues, followed the directions and got force closes left and right. I have installed other roms before and didnt have any issues, not sure what I am doing wrong.

Not sure happened, but I loaded a different rom downloaded in Rom manager with google apps and now I am enjoying it.... =)

i just got my incredible,so i havent used any of the nightlies. i just flashed RC1 and so far so good. im a big fan of gingerbread, but it does feel a tiny bit sluggish coming from incredibly-rengineered.

im using the alternate recovery, not clockwork,so i had no options to do #3 on the instructions. just did a "wipe all" and flashed RC1,then the gapps and rebooted. no force closes or issues yet,but i just flashed it last night :)

i love the cm7 rom. i just wish there was a kernel that would work better for battery life. i guess i just got spoiled when i was running redemptive's rom with ziggy's kernel. the battery life was sick. 1 or 2 % loss per hour it took 5 hours for my phone to get from fully charged to 90% with moderate use. too bad ziggy's kernel isn't compatible with this ( i tries but got a boot loop). this is my only gripe. i just found invibiblek#28 works for this rom i am checking it out. i will let you know how it works.

how long did you give it? right after it boots the first time it will be sluggish for awhile as it syncs and downloads apps...

after it was done with that,i felt it was just a tiny bit sluggish compared to incredibly reingineered, but after using it for a day and a half it feels quite a bit smoother and quicker. maybe the phone has a learning curve to adjust to GB :D

im extremely happy with it.

I feel the same way that has been a big bummer for me cause I'm a fan of CM7.

However, invisiblek has a 2.6.37 kernel out (chad does as well called incredikernel) and if you set your governor to SMAARTASS in cyanogen settiings under Performance you will be pleasantly surprised with battery life. Still not froyo kernel quality, but very well done.

Link to invisibleks .37 modded kernel with HAVS and SMARTASS. Don't use setcpu and wipe only dalvik cache before flashing new kernel

I flashed this kernel yesterday and I'm at almost 25 hours on the battery. I'll need to plug it in soon because I'm down to 5%, but I never got anywhere close to this much battery time before, even with almost no use of the phone.

Not sure what I am doing wrong. I flashed to the new kernal but if i go to the cyanogen settings>performance I do not see smartass in the list of options. Only ones I have are interactive, conservative, ondemand, usersapce, powersave, and performance...

I feel really stupid Kernal version on my phone is 2.6.37-cyanogenmod + slayher@homebrewed #19. That is correct isnt it?:(

You didn't flash the right one or it didn't take I guess. The name of invisiblek's modified slayher .37 kernel is "2.6.37-cyanogenmod+
