Help How do I close or exit apps?

I didn't know android automatically closed apps thats pretty cool....my main problem is when I'm on the internet for a while I have to hit the back button a hundred times just to get back to the home page and it gets kind of annoying...thanks for the reply

If you press the menu button while in the browser there should be a windwos button. Tap and there should be options to close tabs and a new page button wich will take you to your home page.

It doesn't necessarily close the apps, but it will save them in state until they are used again or the memory needs to be freed for other apps. In any case Android manages that without user intervention. Any attempt to manage the processes yourself either manually or with app killers is generally a bad idea and will most likely make your phone less efficient if not buggy as hell.

As for the browser, if you wan't a quick way back, press settings>windows and close all of the windows. It will take you back to your home page.

Or use a better browser with an actual exit button.

Most browsers i have used dont have a exit button in the menu. You hold back then a option comes up to clear history and cache then exit. The stock browser is not to bad just for surfing and speed but there are browsers out there with more customization and options.

Which ones?? I hate the current browser. Dont like Opera either, so Im open for good suggestions for a browser.

and actually...yes, most apps are designed to "exit" or end when pressing the back button all the way out of the app. there are a few that do not, but the majority of them do.

pressing the home button usually results in the app continuing to run until you come back to it or until the system kills it.

apps that are really designed well have a menu option for ext just as some have said.

some apps I leave running, others I back out of.

I tend to use the home button pretty frequently to go back and forth between apps that I have left open, or to others that I had recently used.
