I am hoping someone can help with rather convoluted problem that was created because our corporate policy does not allow Android phones.
I can have either a BB or 3G iPhone.
NOTE: ATT will not make any changes to my account without "corporate" approval.
Not to be dissuaded from the Inspire, after using a crappy Bold for 2 years and not interested in an Iphone 3gS (Iphone 4 is not allowed), I purchased an Inspire without a contract from an Att corporate store. I put my BB sim card from the BB into the Inspire and the phone and sms worked, but data would not work.
Getting data for email from wifi hotspots works, but is a pain.
I didn't get a new sim card when i bought the Inspire.
It appears that something about the BB and BES data plan won't allow the Inspire to receive data.
So, relenting, I ordered a 3Gs ifone and need to provide the imei number and sim card number of the iphone to corporate to "activate" the phone.
My question is, once the iphone is set up with itunes and before I call with the sim card and iMEI numbers, what possible scenarios can occur that will allow me to use the inspire and get data?
Option 1
If I provide the apple imei and sim card number to corporate, can i then move the apple sim from the iphone to the inspire and will the inspire work with voice and data?
Option 2
If I provide the Inspire imei number and apple sim card number, can i then leave the old (inspire) sim and will the inspire work with voice and data?
Option 3?
Any help would be appreciated, the Inspire is a really great phone. I have about 20 days left to return the Inspire.
Thanks
