Hey i was just wondering if you guys think its really worth it to upgrade to the inspire from the samsung captivate. i just got this in December so i can't get it for $99 or whatever with discounts otherwise i would, so i'd have to buy for $399, i'd be selling my captivate for at least $250 so i'd have to pay around $178.

only problems i've seen people having is the battery life, and the camera wasn't as good as the captivate in different lighting. also when the real "4g" comes out it wont work on this inspire so i'd have to get another new one if i want that. also im only 17 without a job right now so its not like $178 is cheap for me lol and i'd prolly be buying it from bestbuy and get the buy back for free this week so i could get $300 back withing 6 monthes

please give me your feedback on what you guys think

thanks
:D

honestlyi would hold off, the Inspire is basically a Desire HD over in the UK, once the dual core phones start coming out it will become outdated as with most single core phones.

This statement means absolutely nothing because its going to take a minimum of one year from now for Android and app developers to be compatible. I will also say comparable to the craptivate its like going from a yugo to a ferrari
ALSO no ATT Android phones have hspua enabled even the captivate or atrix

''This statement means absolutley nothing..." ssshhhh with your whining. So what if there is a wait for fully dual core compatible apps etc, better to be prepared and able to receive them, and benefit from the performance boost.

OP: as i said the Inspire or Desire HD here in the UK has been out for some time now, my advice, hold onto your $$$$, the Captivate is a more than capable phone at the moment, theres no reason to 'upgrade' to an Inspire, wait for something superior to come out and reduce in price.

Using this logic, dual-core phones are almost obsolete as quad-core phones should be hitting the market late this year...

Point is, if you aren't happy with what you have, upgrade. Don't do it based upon the bleeding edge of technology. The Inspire is an amazing device with excellent hardware specs (fast cpu, more than enough RAM, Sense 2.0, etc). It will perform, at a high degree, anything you need it to. It cannot run dual-core required apps, but then again if you look in the market how many dual-core apps are there?

I'll be using the Inspire until HTC starts launching quad-core phones on AT&T which I estimate will be probably 1 year.

Honestly dude, try to find an extra $100.00 and get the Atrix off contract. Sell something else if you have to, the jump in specs alone is well worth the $100.00

beside the fact that the atrix has many issues and the docks which come with it are not recommended by many sites. Do some looking around and you will see the atrix is a fail, messed up screen resolution, colors are off , apps dont render and that 1G only 512 mb are usable by the phone the other space is for the dock so the Inspire has more ram. Anything else you wanna know?

And what about the ppl that are loving the Atrix? They must be crazy huh....

I think the docks are not recommended cuz of the price, not really cuz of the hardware.

I wouldnt call it a fail. The only way a phone would be a fail is if everyone didnt like it and everyone returned it. Dont go and look at just the folks who dont like it, look at the folks who like it too. There are some.

Yea it got alot of hype and attention. Any phone thats gets alot of hype or attention will never live up to it to everyone. Look at ppl who are leaving the iPhone or didnt get an iPhone.

That doesnt make it a fail. Look at the Galaxy S line. Unreliable GPS, screen and color issues, lag fix, and it wasnt considered a fail. It was considered one of the best Android phones from last year.

I wouldnt consider the Atrix a fail.

so your using the galaxy S as not a fail? Just because it sells doesnt make it a success

What do you mean? Are the Inspires out of stock at your location only?

Yeah, sorry that is just at my local store. I personally choose to deal with the local store only because of a bad experience with a phone purchase at walmart many years ago. I am sure the processes have changed but returning that phone meant I had to jump through several hoops so I will just wait a few days until they restock. This will give me a little more time to validate my decision as well.

I was about to ask when your contract was up but if the $178 net out of pocket is TRUE figure of your costs...thats honeslty not bad for the inspire. I bought 2 inspires 2 cases and a car charger and spent $276 (one for me and one for the girl friend), and we both feel we have the BEST AT&T phone currently available (which is only going to get faster as the network goes up and more functional when i find a DLNA media port).

Now if your contract is coming up avail for an upgrade in the next 2 to 4 months...you have some thinking to do...more phones are on the way..... There is always that "yea but i can wait a few more months scenario"....I road that scenario and skipped the captivate and waited for the inspire myself, so i cant fault you for waiting till the next round of releases either.

I'm not inclined to call Atrix a fail at this point, but I have been reading some unsettling comments and reviews from new owners. It may have been the phone was just so overhyped that nothing could have lived up to the expectations. I was all over the phone until prices were announced.

Did you go to the same business school as Michael Scott?

A list of things that has "sold a lot".

Beanie babies
members only jackets
zippered cargo pants
Ford Escorts
Trolls
Cabage Patch dolls
Furby
virtual pets.

Are you suggesting that retail success automatically = a "quality product" because the evidence suggests other wise.
