Well here in the States, they are selling them at any AT&T Store, which I'm sure there are some up your way over the border in the US.

I would check on eBay as well, I'm sure they are for sale there by now, just remember, you are buying the seller first, then the phone. Make sure you feel comfortable with who you are buying from on eBay first and foremost!!

Good Luck!

Buffalo's Gotta have an ATT store....and will they sell to Canada Resident?
Arunsharma7 nice find but no stock.....
Ebay Does have some listed but about 700 + 50-75 shpping plus about 100 customs... 850-900 is a bit too much I think (especially since I would still have to wait 3-4 days to get it...)
Should I call ATT like will they ask me questions up here I know BELL wont sell a phone unless it gets activated

What the Fudgie pie :/ Are you serious? I talked to a Bell rep and he made it seem like I could get the phone off contract and unlocking it costs $75. I'm guessing you need the phone NOW? lol.

Att won't care if you're Canadian. SOME reps won't let you because you're not getting a two year plan, but it won't be because you're from Canada.
You should be able to buy it from the AT&T store. I don't see the issue? You do need to pay $50 to unlock the phone. Well just to be safe, call AT&T to be 100% sure.

It totally depends on the rep, some will, some won't.

Hmm Called the Tonawanda Ny store Buffalo NY store and got the
We are currently not selling the phone outright, and in order to buy it you would have to activate it instore.....not looking good....

I had a friend in the US pick it up from Best Buy for me. Some BB's are selling it without contract to non-AT&T customers (full price), others want you sell it only if you are an AT&T customer. BTW, full price is different than the no-contract price. No contract price still means that you are a AT&T customer but not willing to extend a contract.

BTW, some AT&T stores will also sell you at full price. Now, you may find a AT&T sales person who will sell it you at no-contract price even if you are not an AT&T customer, but of the five stores I called only two would sell it to me without being an AT&T customer (and not signing a new contract).

You guys are more familiar than me can I activate it without a contract with ATT? just wondering 35$ fee is what Bell charges and cancel the next day since I dont have a contract no big issue exra 35 40 for gas plus phone I can live with
Does anyone know what the full price is? since its different than no contract price

The full price @ BB is $599, which is the same as Amazon. I was told by AT&T that their full price was $575.

BTW, I've seen some online stores like letstalk.com sell it for $499. However, you have to enter information about your AT&T account for you to get that price and they will not sell it to you without that information.

You just need to attach your bell account to a sim card (if you haven't done so already), then just unlock the Atrix (you can get a code to do it off ebay for $10-$20). Once you unlock the Atrix, you put in your Bell sim card, and it should run just fine.

One thing though, in order to use data, you will need to set up the Bell APN on the Atrix since you didn't buy the phone from Bell. It's not hard and there are instructions on the Bell site that tells you how to do it.

Yeah Im ok with that price 599.99 is fine with me I will see if I can get it here somehow by friday (from some online retailer that ships to canada) if not Ill go for a drive and hopefully convince someone to sell me one
thnx guys

I could not find a single online retailer that has it in stock that would sell to a non-AT&T customer. Amazon had it available, but does not ship to Canada. Your best bet is to call up beforehand and see if they are willing to sell it to non-AT&T customers, so that your drive is not in vain.

Bloody hell to Jupiter's moons  That's my plan to get the Atrix. I'm on Rogers as well :/ Well last resort...get my sister, who lives in Michigan, to buy the phone off contract for me since she's with AT&T.

Depends on the reps. I've bought phones outright from Bell, Virgin Mobile (before Bell bought them out), and Telus without having contracts with those carriers. From my experience, you have better luck hitting the dealers like Best Buy, Future Shop, WirelessWave, The Source (Radio Shack) etc., rather than going to a corp store. The reps at the corp stores tend to be more focused on maximum sale commision rather than just making any sale, so they look at each phone as a device with contract for voice and data, plus accessories. I also found that if you hit a dealer, tell them you're buying it as a gift and they tend to not bother with carrier details as much.

I just want a phone, so I'll probably hit Best Buy for the reward zone points if I buy the Atrix.

Having said that, my wife is still on Bell so worst case scenario is I buy it outright and use her account for the carrier info which has voice and data on it.

Your best bet is a Best Buy store - their sales reps don't make a commission and are usually willing to sell you the phone without a contract. Future Shop usually will not as their sales folks make a commission on the contract!
