Root Titanium Bloatware Melter??

Hello...

Recently updated my Titanium Pro app and noticed this "Bloatware Melter" option (experimental) new in the app. What exactly is this?? I know it probably has something to do with getting rid of bloatware (I'm SMART, huh??) but I couldn't find any info about how it works...I even checked the dev site...

Yes...I saw that. But I thought that "Chuck Norris" mode already accomplished that even before the upgrade??

The choices under the "Bloatware Melter" prefs are "Don't melt anything" and "Melt label 'New label'"...???

Actually I guess my question is: what is a "NAND locked device"?? And then what does these new settings do??

Locked nand means you have S-ON. Basically, there are different levels of protection placed on certain partitions on internal memory (nand). The most basic are just file/directory permissions. Below that is the fact that protected partitions are mounted as read-only. If you have soft root (a rooted ROM), and have write permissions to said protected partitions, it will do you no good if nand is locked. All changes made to these locked portions of internal memory are undone with security on. When you unlock nand (turn off security - S-OFF), you can made permanent changes to previously locked portions of internal memory. Supposedly, this "melt" option is meant to remove bloatware when you only have a rooted ROM, but not S-OFF. So, if you have a phone that only has soft root, this options is what you'd use. That being said, I have no idea how it works, or if it even does. I haven't looked into it enough, yet.
