Help Optimus V Question

Well... I am 71 and I'm finally getting a cell phone. After you stop laughing I will continue.... OK. A very basic question. Should I get the phone from Virgin (where they are out of stock at the moment) Or just go to Radio Shack and get it. I stink when it comes to technology so will I have to activate it or will the guy at Radio Shack do that for me.

I was dreading asking this question but everybody here seems helpful so...

p.s. I am mainly going to use the phone to scan items for resale, Books etc. as my work cut my hours in HALF so I decided to sell stuff on the internet. It's a BIG challenge but It's just what I need at this point in my life. HOLY CRAP... I do have a tendency to ramble.

You can buy it anywhere the sell it and activate with them or call VM to activate. Just make sure your phone is activated correctly by RS as I heard some horror stories. I did mine thru VM without issues and the comfort of your home and 8xx number.
