torn between atrix and thunderbolt

you're looking at a guy who's going from a blackberry to a first time android user. so bare with me as this will be my first android phone, this decision will have a significant impact.

so what influences my decision at this time is mainly due to work. so time is the essence and i need to make my decision this week and came down to either thunderbolt of the atrix. i know both phones i can't go wrong with. i'm a loyal vzn customer and will never looked back coming from att. with that said, if the bionic was to come out now, the decision would be hands down bionic. so i've tried the pros and cons of the two but i'm still torn between. here's some of my pros and con that is important to me and is weighing on my decision.. maybe your feedback and insight may just edge me towards a winner of the two.

thunderbolt pros
sense ui
4.3 screen
hack friendly
verizon
4g lte
40 gb storage

cons
$300?
even more bulky than evo
overall look, color, etc

atrix pros
$200
tegra 2
front facing cam
high resolution
once cracked, super high possibilities for hacking communities with the tegra 2
att 4g (its no LTE but still better than no 4g)

cons
at&t (less important now since i do mostly txt msg and hardly talk on the phone)
blur ui
less hacker friendly

so one of the main thing for me is that i don't know if the atrix is or will be popular as the other droids and other popular device for the rooting communities. i know its at beast and once cracked, the possibilities in tapping the raw power of the tegra 2 will be crazy. but not an easy task. the only drawback i see is the darn att network that's it's on.

thunderbolt in the other hand i already know will be among the tops phones on the list of rooting community with the next gen snapdragon processor that's already stellar. Plus it's vzn!

anyways help me here!

thanks guys

the thing that's outweighing the fact that the atrix is on at&t, is the atrix itself. it's a beast of a phone. at this point, it's only drawback is the at&t that it's on. but it might just be a scrafice i might have to take. Plus it's $120 vs earlier reports of $300 for the thunderbolt which makes the deal even better. plus now from the xda forums, one of the devs are at full force in cracking the bootloader and on the verge of cracking in it.

now after mpossoff reply that i can return it after 30 days is even more sweater! ughh!

What issues do you have with AT&T?

as a previous at&t customer, i've gone to near breaking point where i almost threw my blackberry out the window due to drops calls, horrid customer service, just sucking all around.

now with vzn, i'm getting signals in my elevator, subways, not a single drop calls, excellent customer service, etc.

with that said, recently, people have told me with all the people who bailed to vzn, at&t network has been a lot better. besides i mostly txt now so that's my justification.

Well not alot of ATT people bailed. ATT is excellent in my area and I'm noticing faster speeds lately. Averaging 2.5 down, 1.5 up.

ATT has improvement and expansion on 3G network projected to be complete by the end of March.

I'm not an ATT fanboy but I believe ATT gets a bad rap. Yes there are issues probably more than VZW.

That's why it's wise to pick carrier first.
