Inspire friends a question?

I'm going.to be starting a tech review website and I want some input from you guys. I want to know what you all want from a site. I want this site to be for everyone not just the ubergeek or tech whores. I want everyone to feel welcome and get something from my reviews. Also when I narrow down the names I will put a poll up any recommendations ?

Off the top, i don't know if it's even possible to appeal to both an ubergeek and a newb crowd at the same time. Even on this forum, people are constantly asking for more "dumbed down" step-by-step instructions, to the chagrin of others who must fish through that many more posts to get to the meat of, for example, rooting.

Regardless, good luck with the site!

Thanks how about sections noob and ubergeek. Each section has a review each section with information pertinent to that class of individual. Also in the review possibly grading system for the noob, moderate, uber etc.

"Techology Inspired"

Depending on what kind of products you're reviewing you may want to include more words to help out with search results... Electronics, Android, Mac/PC, etc.

Sounds fun, how are you going to build it? As a blog? Or a forum? Or both? Shoot me a PM if you need help setting it up.

I'm in as a mod if you want some light policing and ill even leave my personal views out of it (Larry king style).

The amount of tech news that comes out each day is staggering and I live it. The whole reason I wanted this phone was to keep up with news. Id love to help post the daily favorite/highlights on the front page as well. Maybe with the occasional off the cuff "one line commentary' attached to a summary and links.

Just let me know when and where and I'm there. You will need three or four of us to cover the constant news and baby sit the forums at minimum. It's too much for one person if you want consistent coverage. I can't think of a topic id rather do this on than tech.

Ultimately we are going to be trying to compete against some very established sites from CNET to engaget so it would be good to come up with our own unique style and niche.

Exactly what I am thinking, something a bit avant gar de but reaching the masses not just the ubergeek. All of us have to start corresponding on a different level possibly email.

I suggest setting up a dedicated Facebook page for the site first. Potential staffers can friend it and we will all see the updates in our friend stream app and communicate there in one central location till the site itself us up and running. Then we can just convert what's left of the page to an ad site.

Ok so as soon as the name is decided the facebook page, youtube account and twitter will go live and i will post it here and we will go from there.
