looks well protected. I had one on my previous phone, which when you press hard on the screen will leave a oilslick effect. some people had to use baby powder or in my case, a antiglare screen protector underneath the case's built in screen.

My defender is shipping atm, my question to you is does the screen protector behave the same way? pressing down on the screen does it stick in some spots?

I don't see any "oil slick" effect when I press the screen. I have also not experienced any "sticking" (like from moisture or whatever like I have seen in some videos of these cases on other devices) It just simply works. Let us know if you don't have any problems.

LOL It'd be a "poor phone" if it got dropped/crushed while I was skateboarding, etc... the reason I got this case. Also, I like the peace of mind it gives me with the 30 day return policy in mind. Just in case. I'm pretty harsh on my devices because I actually use them.

meh, i don't see how subjecting the phone to unnecessary physical damage would = "actual usage". i think someone who never left the couch and was playing Angry Birds, texting and facebooking on his/her phone all day would be "actually using" the phone just as much if not more.

BUTTTTT, aside from the wording, i agree that the Defender Case is as good of protection as it gets for phones in "high risk" environments. most people see it as super clunky and overkill.

I swear by Otter Box cases now. I was working on my car last year, and had left my phone in a moronic place. Spent 2 hours working on my car and was annoyed, and didn't pay attention to where I put it down after a phone call. So when I was done working on the car I didn't notice the black phone on the car because my car is painted black as well, it blended right in. So, I closed the hood with my phone lying right in the way. The hood slammed down right on the phone, and without the case, it would have at the very least cracked the screen, or maybe even completely smashed the phone.

All I had was a tiny dents on each side of the case along the edges of the screen. Completely saved my iPhone.

I just received my Defender case. Yes this thing feels like its protected from the likes of King Kong. No, it is not comfortable to use otherwise.

This case was not what I was looking for. Its a great case for people who feel they might need a lot of protection from dropping or running over the phone but in all seriousness, how often is that likely to happen?

The multiple layers are difficult to put together and take apart easy if you need to get at the battery, SIM or SDcard. There is no way this will work with any docks. It doesnt even go into a pocket all that well. Its almost double the thickness of the phone and is very soft rubber so it sticks sliding in or out of the pocket.

I really wish Seidio would get on their case a bit quicker, Ive had nothing but good luck with their stuff for my past 5 phones.

How is the screen quality w the defender on? Does it darken or affect responsiveness?

Nope, screen still looks great and I only notice a slight need to press a bit harder on the screen but otherwise very quick to get used to. The only tough part is pulling down the notification bar at the top since the case comes down a bit over the top. You have to kind of dig your fingertip up there for the screen to respond.

I'm still waiting for mine, directly from Otterbox.

What I do want to know is, if moving icons from one screen to another, with the case on, does your finger get caught on the edge of the case when trying to move the icon over?

I know it did on my iPhone case...

i know what you mean with the iphone's otterbox since I have it for my 3gs.

well if you have big fingers then you'd have some difficulty but way better than 3gs. I'll try to take some pictures of them side by side.

Edit: Ok here are some pictures of the 3gs's defender and Atrix's.

Ecdoc hope you dont mind me adding a few pics to your thread

Notice in the pic above the Iphone's case left a small spot in the middle. Some days it covers a large part of the screen and others not so bad. this is due to the screen-protector sticking while parts of it doesn't. So far I dont see it happening on the atrix's case. maybe they changed the design. who knows.

We are working to get Atrix accessories as quickly as possible. I should have more news about accessories soon.

Got mine today! I swear by them. Had one for my first gen iPhone, skipped the Droid1 because of the sliding part, had one for my Streak, and now for my Atrix. One day shipping was really one day shipping! Love Amazon. I like how they got around the oil slick effect for the screen cover. There's a small, half millimeter air gap between the screen and the cover. Makes hitting the buttons on the bottom of the screen feel a little weird, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
