Help Nextel i1 on Boost Mobile

When i used to play with the old motorola I series phones like the boost i875 and the nextel i870 which was the same phone just different colors. You used to have the "code plug" or (CP) as it was called, modded. there wa a guy on howard forums in the (nextel MOD) section that used to do it for free for fun. he would tell you what program you needed to copy your CP from your old phone post it to him in a PM and he would mod it to work for you. then he would pm it in a link back to you so you can load it back to your phone. try there and see if it can be done.

All you need to do is activate a BOOST phone with a new SIM card and once it is activated take out the SIM card and put it in the I1. I know this works because it is exactly how I did it. I had a Blackberry (8350i) and just replaced it with my I1. I had only to switch out the SIM cards and voila!

And the i1 you have is from Nextel not Boost right?

This is all good info. I just bought a boost sim and popped it in. The I1 is not a dominantphone. If you put the sim into another phone it will steal the identiry. So if you take sim from i1 and put in a i465 the boost system will say oh i see you have a i465. So you think it works the other way and pop it in the i1 and all is good. Nope. Do it with phone powered off and use myboost mobile to change phone type and eixx numbers. Make sure boost shows it as an I1 or you will be struggling!

Mine always said NEXTEL on power up even with boost sim. Just kill all the stupid sprint crap. Get App killer to keep battery long lasting. Again. This would be the best phone and my last if it was CDMA.

Until you go into the boost system and tell it that you have an I1 you will have a multitude of msg and call problems. Get used to the fact that you can only do one thing at a time. This means if you are texting you will drop or miss calls. I always tried to be on a wifi. I loved the phone but too many black eyes from wife when she got "searching for subscriber" messages.

Once the boost mobile says you actually have an I1 and you do the system reset it will be fine. I love the phone but got a htc evo 4g so mine will be for sale if anyone interested.
