I am moving to verizon next month (no other choice) and need your help picking secondary line non-smartphone for parent.
Features I am looking into non-smart phone are...in order of importance high to low...

-Candybar style ONLY- NO slider or Flip pls.
-Not touch screen phone
-Not complicated to use (meaning easy to make phone calls)
-Keys are not too close and easy to enter #s
-Dont need web/email/etc.
-Good camera will be preferred

I checked Verizion online and only 2 I see are LG Cosmos and Octane? Doesn't verizon offer any more choices for non-smartphones ?? ATT has so many options (Nokias) being GSM tech but I can't find good CDMA phones out there...

Please give me your opinions!!! thanks

... not even those 2 meet your requirements. The Octane is a flip and the Cosmos is a slider, but I guess they could ignore the QWERTY keyboard to make them sort-of candybar phones. But, if you're willing to accept that compromise (candybar style dialer pad with flip/slider QWERTY), you can also look at the Samsung Intensity II and the Casio G'zOne Brigade.

Unfortunately, the VZW "feature phone" selection has gotten really, really bad. They keep discontinuing models and not bringing out new ones. Have you considered buying used? At least you'd not have a 2 year contract on the line that way.

First, thank you all for your input!
Motorola Ruggedized? too expensive for look+features it offers! out of picture!
I am fine with used phone (older model--within lets say last 1 year --dont want antique)...please suggest models as very new to verizion territory!!!
I didnt know Cosmos is slider. Yes I can ignore querty flip - AS LONG as numeric keys are outside - and basic features work without slide or flip.
Right now, only 2 on my list are Cosmos or Octane!
How is Motorola SLVR? but it has only 2/5 stars on review...
please help!!!
again suggest me older models pls? I will buy on ebay most likely! Any Nokia's model?

Oh again I hate going to verizon but I got no choice!!! their feature phones are crap!

Unfortunately, Nokia pretty much bailed on the CDMA market some time back... about 2005 or 2006 IIRC. You would find a Nokia-branded phone or 2 in Verizon's list from time-to-time, but they were in fact Pantech devices re-labeled as Nokia.

I haven't owned a Verizon candybar phone since the old Nokia 3589i, which was a great phone in its day.

You'd probably get more opinions on the best Verizon candybar feature phones at a discussion board not devoted to Android. Here's one: http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php/51-Verizon-Wireless
