I'm a car nut, so I figured I would share my video footage the Atrix takes of the road while placed in the vehicle dock.

Unfortunately I wasn't able to take a day video, but it came out pretty good.

Uploaded in full 720P quality.

I hope it takes good day quality mounted in the dock.

By the way, it had a 30 min max video length, not sure if that was my 32gb microsd card or the max length period.

Slick! I do a few track events and never considered using the phone, just because the of the mounting logistics. I don't think I even realized the car dock had openings for the camera lens.

Very cool.

BTW, should be able to record way more 720P video on a 32GB card. Either it was using your internal storage or there's some funky, artificial limitation.

But if that 350 isn't fitted with the "Track Package", he's goin' to have some issues. Probably just needs help with trail braking.

;)

Haha, that's pretty funny :) Though, you can take just about anything to the track and have fun. I've been doing it for 15+ years and seen people driving bone stock Honda accords having a blast.

Technique can be improved at 5/10ths or 10/10ths :D

Also wanted to add "Stay in school" :D

Do they have a common problem with the sidewalls on the MX? Their ultra high performance summers and barely have a sidewall anyway, their 275/30/18 and 235/35/18's.

I read plenty of reviews and never heard anything about sidewall issues.

I picked them up on clearance from tire rack this past fall.

This would be perfect for the autox season coming up. Thanks for posting this,I guess I wont be buying one of those hero hdpro cameras now lol

Yeah, a number of folks I know run GoPros (motorports and various watersports), but if you already _have_ this camera, seems like a cooler way to go.

Heck, I was still using an IOPort mount with a tape based DV camera :D

So for all the driving enthusiasts, where are you located? Run any events in the southeast?

There's something coming up at Roebling next month I might attend.

If I may ask ... do you have it mounted to the window or the dash? I have a 2005 GTO and it has the perfect spot on the dash to mount it but I have not yet decided if I will set it there or the front window. I like the angle you got there so I'm wondering which you chose. Assuming it was window mount.

Yes, this is on the window. Nothing touches my dash lol.

That was one of my excuses for being able to afford this phone and the dock, that and that it doubles as a GPS :)

I'm in the northeast.

actually, if someone was doing that same thing on the opposite side of the rode the wouldn't hit eachother...

Hahaha, that's pretty funny, it reminds me of that old George Carlin bit:

I'm riding with this guy and he comes up to a red light and blows through it.

"I can't believe you ran that red light!"

"No problem, my brother drives like this."

He comes up to another red light and blows through it too, and says, "no problem, my brother drives like this".

Finally he gets to a green light and stops. "Why are you stopping at a green light?"

"Because .... my brother might be coming the other way"
