Hi all,
I'm having problems rooting my Orange-branded HTC Desire using unrEVOked 3. I have tried all the advice I can find - on this forum, on XDA, and anywhere else, but to no avail. So I thought I'd ask you fine people if there's something I'm missing.
I've tried unrEVOked 3.21 and 3.32:
My phone specs are:
O/S: Android 2.2
Model number: HTC Desire A8181
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-ON (40000 erase size)
HBOOT 0.93.0001
MICROP-051d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNW0101
RADIO-5.10.05.30
Aug 10 2010, 17:52:10
Baseband version: 32.48.00.32U_5.10.05.30
Kernel version: 2.6.32.15-g29e526b htc-kernel@and18-2 #1
Build number: 2.17.61.3 CL274424 release-keys
Software number: 2.17.61.3
Using both versions of unrEVOked, after a few reboots I get the message: "This was a triumph", and the command line console displays one or more: "ERROR: n = -1, errno = 19 (No such device)".
On 3.32, it fails with the error: "Internal error: failed to unlock NAND flash?".
On 3.21 it fails with the error: "Internal error: couldn't find misc.", and on the console I also get this: "rawadb_open: remote closed the connection looking for target "reboot"."
Does anyone have any idea what I can try next?

I've tried unrEVOked 3.21 and 3.32:
- On an old thinkpad laptop running Ubuntu 10.10 (sudo)
- On a new HP laptop running Windows 7 32 bit (run as Admin)
- Using every available USB port on each machine.
- Using the built-in recovery image
- Using the recovery-RA-desire-V2.0.0.img (and the 2.0.1 image), since I have an erase size of 40K.
