Hello,
I know this has been asked here before, I've done about 5-6 hours of bouncing around forums looking for answers, yet I still remain stuck and confused.
Heck Jailbreaking my old 3GS seemed simpler!
Maybe I'm just used to that OS

Anyways, Im looking for a clear cut, laymans terms response.
If anybody is able to help, its VERY appreciated!

Im running an unlocked and rooted Rogers Dell Streak, build 6601
So far Ive been able to take it from being the "Rogers OS" to the AT&T one.
A guid I found here told me to do so.
I got rooted and have fastboot and clockwork on the unit but I cant seem to find out what to do next.

I tried streakdroids QDLtool video but my laptop wouldnt allow me to change the certificate signature checks off and I got turned around and now cant see "quaalcom HSUSB" in my device manager..

Im a complete n00b to android, I apologize if this isnt making much sense and please explain slowly:p

How can I get the Custom froyo on my phone from my current state?

Did you follow the tutorial video re: QDLTool?

I recommend watching the tutorial vids again. Did you make sure to through the commands in @ the command prompt while in Admin mode?

If you are running 64Bit windows, watch the 64bit tutorial first.

RE: not being able to see the Qualcomm HSUB:
- Uninstall the driver that you installed.
- Reinstall - but pay close attention to the one you are installing. The driver is actually towards the middle to the bottom of the list. Not towards the top. (Well, that's the mistake I made anyway!)

The 2 problems you are having, seem to be the same as the problems I experienced.

I watched the QDL video half asleep, and missed some steps. Doing it the next day with a fresh set of eyes certainly helped. OH, BTW: After you successfully install 2.2 on to your Streak, don't forget to run through the OPPOSITE commands entered at the command prompt. Otherwise, when you reboot, your windows will say it's a test version with a build # or something like that in the bottom right hand corner. Uber annoying.

Haha ya it was about 4am by the time i found the vid tutorial, i was pretty sleepy and prob messed up on a simple step:p
How do I uninstall the driver?

thank you again for any help and patience, I'm very new to this

So I managed to uninstall the driver and start over to make sure I chose the HS-USB Diagnostics 9002 option..
I do that and than I get a popup upon confirmation that tells me the "driver is not intended for this platform."
Immediately after I click OK, the device manager window refreshes and Qualcomm listing vanishes and Com8 appears.. sometimes Com4 appears..
I ran the 64bit tutorial(figured I had to since Im running Win-doze7) and turned off certificate checks before hand.. restarted the computer..
I cant figure out what Im doing wrong.
Help:(

I'm running 64.
And sInce aive alfeady ruined my warranty with unlocking and rooting, Id rather have djsteves rom on my device.
Orrrr... would the official froyo version be better?
How would I acquire it since my device is unlocked from Rogers, running on Fido, and carrying the AT&T firmware?
