Help Android Customization Help

I'm sure I'm not the only one who needs help. I've seen the thread on everybody's homescreen and some of them look really good. I did a little research and got launcherpro and some widgets, but I cant find any free icons. I cant afford to pay for any of that. Any help would be appreciated. I was also wondering how to change the dock. I also seen some people put a link to their theme, how could you put that into your phone? Is there a widget where I can click on it and it calls someone without it sending me to another screen to 'call now'?

40 people viewed the page and couldn't help? I have another problem. I dl another sms widget and assigned a ringtone to it, now when I get a text message I hear the original and the new one. How do I stop the original sms from working?

It would help if you would specify which messaging app you are using.

If Handcent, then you can first launch "Messaging" then click the menu on your phone. Then go to Settings and then disable notifications.
Then go to your notification settings on Handcent and make sure notifications is checked.
Now it should only beep once.

Thanks. As for the ringtone, is it possible to have it start off loud instead of 'ascend'ing?

Hey, since this is where I come to not get help, I have more questions. I figured out how to get the icons I want, but how do I use them on apps other than those on the dock? I am using LaucherPro and can long hold the dock items and change the icons but not the rest of the ones on the screen. Another question: I had a google widget that I could just type what I want in there and it'll google it, and now I cant find it. Does anybody know the name of it?

Not sure if it the same in LP but for me its just "search" with a magnifying glass icon in the android Widgets menu.

Where did you find the free icons? Are they for launcher pro only?

I'm not sure if its only for LauncherPro, but on a computer I googled 'android icons' and thousands of icons came out. I downloaded or saved the images of the ones I liked. I emailed myself the icons and opened the mail on the phone and saved them. I'm sure theres an easier way but this is what I figured out on my own.
