Root Best ROM?

i'm a "sense" guy myself so here are some roms that i like:
myn's warm2.2 rl5, mikfroyo4.5, kings ultra froyo unleashed.

a list of roms are in my sig ref#2

aosp roms do not have sense built in. it is pure android so they do not have 4g or hdmi working. cm7 does have 4g however. it is a matter of preference and you have to do some research as some of them are buggy and could cause issues for some.

I'm the same way. I'm running Warm Z 2.2 right now, but with the call issues I may switch back to mikfroyo

There are plenty of great ROM's out there. Everyone's preferences are different, and which ROM is going to best suit you, is going to depend on yours. Are you in a 4g area and depend on it frequently? What about hdmi? If you answered yes to any of those questions, stick with sense (they have everything working). If those things aren't a *must* than maybe an AOSP ROM will suit you better. I've used Cyanogen w/ wimax alpha, and it's pretty slick but am a sense man myself. I've tried Myn's, Mik's, Koni's, Burnt Droid, and Vaelpak. My daily driver was Mik's (until my phone got stolen last week :(). The best advice I can give you is make a nandroid, and start flashing! Hope this helps :D.

OH MAN! :( Sorry to hear that! Hope you are able to get a replacement quickly!

Unfortunately I'm insured by Best Buy's "Black Tie Insurance", which does not cover lost or stolen phones. I need to come out of pocket and purchase another Evo. I'll have another one on the 10th of March. Till then I'll be watching the from the side lines so to speak.

I'm really sorry to hear that, frenchy :(. I know I said that before, but it still really sucks. Having to buy a new one at retail is never fun :(. At least you like the Evo enough to buy another one :).

It's probably too late now, but if it ever happens again, there's a new app on the market to help you locate a lost or stolen phone after the fact (as in, you didn't plan ahead with any other apps like it). It's called Plan B, and it takes advantage of the fact that apps can now be downloaded directly to the phone, remotely.
