neither have given a release date so at this point it doesn't matter. based on bmx's tweet it could be anywhere from this week to 2-3 weeks from now

Considering their marketing controls their web pages should tell folks all they need to know for now. Seems the folks that control VZW web property and what is published would know better as to when the device will actually ship.

The published note today suggests VZW do not yet know themselves when the TB will ship. That kind of negates anything else.

BMX never said it was shipping- some people seem to miss that and assume other things.

Ads do not stop and companies do not post generic notes unless the product is not shipping soon. Ask any person familiar with consumer marketing how nuts the current events would be if they were shipping this week or even next week. No way this week, none the less.

Still not adding up. Why is VZW being even more odd than normal VZW? Wonder what is going on in them-there HQ offices in DC?

My lame guess is a 4G issue.

finishing firmware has almost nothing to do with us getting the product in our hands

Why a new thread for this? Shouldn't this go under the release thread considering it deals with the release (or lack of) for this phone? Hopefully the Mods will come to the rescue and lock this thread.

Well, if you read all of BMX's tweets the last day or so he said two things.

1) The network is ready.
2) The Thunderbolt has received it's final firmware and is ready to go.

So I would say that VZW saying they want their technology behind this phone to be ready is saying that this is what has held it up till now. Maybe they want a few more days with the latest firware to verify it's fixed the way they want it.

I take it to mean they have a tentative date, but won't release it until it's a SOLID date. How is this any different from the past month? I love my Inspire, and each day I get closer to being locked in, I love it even more.
