Whenever I check my phones battery usage, my display is at the top usually displaying 50%-70%, even if I have had the phone idling for 4 hrs not playing with it. I have my brightness usually set to off or auto and I do not run live wallpapers and my phone is set to sleep within 15 secs. My question is, is it supposed to be this high or what?

P.s. what can I do to fix it

Set it to 30 - 40%. This seems bright enough for me and still good out doors.

I think you misunderstood my post, my battery usage is telling me that 50-70% of my battery is being used by my screen, even with my settings so low and even when it's been idle for a few hrs. I'm just trying to figure out whats going on with my nexus, if there is something wrong

My display also uses most of the battery even when on standby....just a quirk of any phone with a decent screen i think....i wouldnt worry about it.

Next highest battery drainer is the Android OS....after that everything else barely registers.

I am getting 36 hours between charges by turning off GPS and making sure apps are closed down when not using them....i have 3G and Wi-Fi on all the time though.

No, the screen is always the highest user of my battery. It is one of the largest power drains on the phone - so even with limited use it's always up there.
