Root [ROM] CM7 Nightlies EVO Community

From what I'm reading over at the Cyanogen forums, it sounds like SetCPU really isn't needed since all the kernel/governor stuff can be controlled within the Cyanogenmod settings. Do any of you guys feel this is true? I haven't really tried changing much in the performance settings just yet, but I just downloaded a Savage-zen kernel so I am about to go down that path. Should I just uninstall SetCPU and go with the savagezen kernel?

I noticed my battery will drop from 100 to 90 like a rock, and then stabilize after that.

I'm running nightly 6 by the way.

No I just have it on whatever it defaults to. I haven't touched any of the performance in cyanogen settings. I just have SetCPU configured to underclock to 245/245 with the screen off and regular speeds otherwise.

My scaling in SetCPU is set to ondemand. SavagedZen is an option. But this would be just like changing the settings in the cyanogenmod settings right? The only thing I can see is that SetCPU allows me to underclock with the screen off and I don't think I can make that distinction in the CM settings.

I am so, so sorry. The first time I flashed Cyanogen, I had the same issue, and thought it was the ROM. Then I noticed the phone would only charge in certain positions, and even then, my PC nor my girlfriend's Mac would see it when plugged into their USB ports. :(

Ahh I can't find the thread. I just noticed it when I flashed over to the most recent nightly and thought that was it. But now I think you're right.

I usually flash the kernel after flashing the nightlies, and it's been working 99% fine for me, despite a few random reboots that might as well be the ROM.

I'm on nightly 8 with no mods (other than cm7 itself of course) currently, and it seems to be running quite flawless, I even noticed the stock sense rom had way more issues, so I even go my wifes phone on nightly's as well, and she seems to be much happier with it as well. Honestly I haven't seen it reboot randomly since nightly 20, but I've stayed stock the whole time and likei said I noticed battery life has gotten pretty bad relatively, and im looking for some improvement...

But what is the difference between cfs and bfs??
