can someone help me find a new android phone, I've been an ios user for some time now and am looking to change to android. These are the specifications I would like to have in a phone and details below:
My Birthday is coming up in the middle of March and have a $200/$250 limit and was hoping to get a new android phone!

Details:
BUDGET: $200/$250USD OR AUD at absolute max!
Unlocked phone for use in Australia (or locked to vodafone carrier)
at least android 2.1+
Australian wall charger

Specs:
-3inch+ screen (I have a hard time seeing so a screen bigger than 3inches is a must as I have low vision)
-not so many buttons at the bottom
-touch screen
-slide out keyboard (really doesn't have to have a keyboard it's just I kind of like them but never used one on my own phone)
-2+ MP camera (I'm used to a 1.5 on my phone which is pretty old now)
---must play angry birds!!!!

Phones I've looked at:
lg gt540 (it could do, just won't update android anymore which is a shame)
ideos (small screen)
ideos x3 (not out yet and I'm wanting the phone by the middle of March)
galaxies (the ones I can afford have too smaller screen)
htc smart (screen is too small)
and alot of other phones...

I think that's all my musts if it has all that (keyboard doesn't matter much) for under $250 i'd be very very happy.

thanks for reading and hopefully you can help me out!

Don't know if you have purchased yet or not. But I highly recommend the LG Optimus V from Virgin Mobile. The phone is only 150.00, you can port your old number to it, Unlimited talk, text and internet is 60 a month, insurance if you like is 5 and you can install an app called quick settings (free in the android market) that activates the wifi hotspot capabilities of the phone.

Hope this helps, i have and use this and it works great.
I give the Optimus 5 out of 5 stars for being a great entry level android phone.

I was thinking an EVO or an EPIC... which one would you get?
Not familiar with the Epic. But my sister has the Evo and as much as I like my Optimus, if Virgin had the Evo, my Opt would be history. The Evo may as well be a tablet PC. I think it has a 4 inch screen which is not tablet size but it is much larger than mine and the phone just does everything under the sun.
8 mpxl camera to boot, takes 32 gig SDcard. So nice long videos.

I was looking for the optimus v but I couldn't find it, can I get a link for australia?

the galaxy pop looks great but it's only in India and don't know where to get it for australia.

Sadly it looks like the Optimus V is not available in Australia at the moment.
These appear to be the only LG phones in your line up,

Optimus............... One Optimus .....T320

The Optimus V is basically the same phone as the Optimus S from sprint, they just moved two of the keys to different locations.
These phones being LGs would only make me look closer at them if they are in your price range.
After having only good experience with LGs and Nokias they will be the brands I look to. I got bit by Samsung and Motorola and will not be spending my money with them in the future.
Also look at HTC phones. M sister has the EVO and loves it, My brother is getting ready to plunk down some big change on two of them because they are so nice.
I don't know if HTC makes entry level Android phones, but I can only think that they will be quality products if they do.
Good luck.

Looking at tijsje's post I looked up the HTC Wildfire.
Here is the phone and

I too have bad eyesight and we people with bad eyes have complained for 2 years now and our complaints fall on death ears. iphone & Blackberry have system wide font change to enlarge the font size so us bad eyesight folks can read the screen without having to put glasses on 40 times a day. It sucks BIG time that for 2 years no-one is listening to us. I love my droid but now advise all the visually impaired to buy iphone or blackberry so they don't have to put glasses on every time they use their phone. Using a phone 40 or more times a day just plain sucks fumbling around looking for glasses because text is freaking tiny. Sorry for the rant folks, but it ticks me off to have to think about buying an iphone because android refuses to consider the handicapped folks when iphone & BB did consider us...8/
If you had to put reading glasses or glasses on 40 or more times a day like me you would understand the frustration. Blogs all over the internet for two years now have MANY complaining on this and nothing is being done.
