@derpudel lte isnt for everyone.. why do u think the new line of droids isnt 4g.. those that want bleeding edge pay for it..

oh no...

Perhaps we won't be paying for it after all. I believe this tweet came the same day BMX tweeted about how he was in a tizzy cause VZW wouldn't open up their pocketbook enough for him. Allegedly. LOL

I took that to mean that he was tired of everyone complaining about the price of the TB and the potential LTE pricing and was saying about getting rid of Twitter because it's just getting annoying for him to hear people bash him and the products he tests. I didn't take it as meaning anything directed at his job. Who knows, just have to keep waiting and see whenever this thing finally hits the market. Better be a very competitive price as far as 4G LTE is considered or I'll be switching to Sprint instead of Verizon for Sprints 4G unlimited plans which are realistically pricedand going with the Evo (the thought of this saddens me as I know the TB is twice the phone as an Evo, lol). Not that Verizon really cares about me, but I know a decent sized group of people that are waiting on the Thunderbolt to arrive and are in the same boat as me. They are all going to switch to Sprint if VZW gets out of control with their 4G pricing. Don't let me down VZW, I want the TB!

Do we have any speculation about what the device costs with a one-year contract with Verizon? I see that a price of $299.99 has been quoted for a two-year contract, but I haven't seen any numbers for a one-year contract

No pricing is set in stone yet. According to the VZW rep I spoke with, if they do end up offering a 1-yr contract, she would expect it to be about $70+ more than the 2-yr.

But we all know how reliable reps are...

A few thoughts on this debate:

1. I believe "very shortly" coming from the CFO means he doesn't want to put any frame of reference on when it will release because it's still not finalized. I highly doubt this phone will be released next week, and quite possibly not for a few weeks yet.

2. The VZ Navigator app for the Thunderbolt showing up in the market doesn't mean anything. How often do apps show up in the market only to be pulled later?

3. Not sure if this has been posted before, but I came across this video from the MWC, and the rep clearly states that the Thunderbolt will be coming out "in the middle of the year" -

***video removed, ignore it***

- take it as a grain of salt because we all know how reps say the darndest things, but being a rep at MWC probably puts this guy more in the know than a rep at a store...

The phone is probably ready now, but VZW can release it when they decide to

Just a hunch

My biggest fear now is this will only be a 2 year contract phone. If it goes the Apple route for pricing and the release for the iPhone was 2 year contract only as well.

I'll still be glad to get the phone on a 2 year deal but it's something that people aren't focusing on.

I really hope its not a 2-yr only phone. I haven't done a 2-yr contract since I bought my first cell phone back in the day, when they didn't even have color screens.

Yeah I'll be upset , but I'll still get the phone . I luckly have other lines I can use upgrades on but I'd have a hard time committing to this phone for 20months if I was a one line user. I think getting rid of yearly upgrades was a real weak thing to do on VZW part

While I could be happy with this phone for that long I feel it's a 1yr phone for me. It has everything I want in a phone . I've said this before but if the EVO had come to VZW and I got it instead of the Incredible I wouldn't even be upgrading . This is going to sound stupid but a kickstand, 4in + screen and FFC are the only things I feel my Incredible is lacking

What he is saying here is you that are threatening to walk out and not come back, if you leave you won't have the Best (Verizon) so you need to pay for the best to have it.

Stop your whining, you will have the best (With Verizon) but the best don't come cheap. :)

He follows this with a tweet about TeamRed. He is talking about his job. Not everything he says is about the Thunderbolt. Come on, people...

few more weeks? lol Come on man...do you not keep up with the forums?

VZW stated Q1, Q1 ends in 29 days.

Yes, I do keep up, and you agree with me. 29 days is a few more weeks.

My apologies for not realizing that was an old video, just ignore it. I still don't believe we'll be seeing this next week.

No big deal - we have a lot of new people, and our lurkers in this forum (many bound to be our new Bolt members soon, no doubt) outnumber the posters by a factor of 10 to 1.

Looked at that way, a little repetition doesn't hurt. Better to see it twice than not at all.

Besides you already apologized when you posted it in event it had been up before - so - it's all good where we're concerned. ;)
