What are the advantages/disadvantages..?

Since the Nexus One isn't shipping to Sweden, and probably won't for a few months, I am considering buying one from eBay. My questions to the more experienced Android users are;

1. What are the advantages and/or disadvantages, if any, of buying the Nexus One from eBay (to Sweden)? Will everything work 100%, i.e Maps, etc.?
2. Can anyone with an Android phone try pressing and holding the A key on the keyboard to see if the characters

Those characters come up. Im using better keyboard app. Im pretty sure there are also language packs for complete keyboard swaps.

I would like to know if maps work outside the US too. Im living in Cyprus and am also considering buying on ebay cause Google dont ship here.

I've got google maps on my HTC Touch Diamond II and it works fine in Finland, don't see a reason why it wouldn't since it gets all the maps through the web.

I've been waiting for the nexus one for a while and it's kinda bummer I can't buy it straight from Google. Wonder how long it will take even to get to scandinavia and what it will cost then.

One thing that I've been wondering is that does the voice-to-text function support other languages than english. I have no problem using it in english but it would be cool if it would.
