Help restarts by itself

I bought this phone new this past saturday and it has shut off and restarted itself an average of 3-4x a day. Whether it be while reading a web page, trying to connect to the market of listening to pandora. I know three other people who bought the phone around the same time and they don't have that problem. Should I take it back or is there something I can do myself?
 
Return the phone and they will replace it. You will have to go to a corporate store, not an authorized dealer though as they can't exchange out phones.

There have been several people(myself included) that have had issues with the 2.2.1 version of the phone doing this, is that the version you have?

I'm only curious because I suspect there is a bad production batch of this version out on the market.

This problem seems common with this phone. I've read a lot about it happening on the net. When it happened the other day, the screen froze. I've started using another phone as a back up -- as an alarm clock. I'm pissed that I got ripped off, but I've exchanged this phone so many times already and the same problems keep happening.

Is the latest phone you have customized? My friend customized his and set it to OC at boot too high, thus causing it to freeze and reboot all the time.

Regardless of the issue, I personally would return a 1000 of them until they get it right. You paid for a functioning device, not a "somewhat" functioning device. It's on LG and Metro to provide you with one no matter how many times you have to return it.

I'll agree with Insanecrane; it was that same advice from this forum and my friends that made me realize why I needed to insist on a replacement today! I got my Optimus 10 days ago, after 13+yrs with TMobile, and certainly am not paying for it to lock up/freeze/turn off/reboot? My son got the same phone & his has never had any of these problems. And every rep. has been very helpful, too. Not their fault if LG has messed up batch!
