I agree. Although no date was given it has definitely been delayed (maybe multiple times). The tweet from the beginning of February that said it would be here sooner than expected - I doubt they meant March 10th instead of March 17th etc. Also, the commercials that started airing a few weeks ago at a heavy amount were also a sign that it should have come out around that time. Not to mention Best Buy choosing to run the TB ads - can't tell me they were not told a date at some point to base when to run the ads. I think it has been delayed several times and it is getting old with all this "can't be delayed if it was never announced" because that is not true.

I'll give it a try then with all 4 if it will take. That is the only thing I miss from BB, syncing all accounts all the time. I also liked the separate email icons for each account with the little red flag that popped up on email. But I'm making do since my Eris days.

I have two IMAP accounts going, but it will allow me to add more (ME ActiveSync or POP3/IMAP). How many more, I don't know. My colleague in the cube next to me says 6, but he's not 100% sure. Hope that helps?

It does indicate a DELAY though. I am just tired of the "you can't delay what hasn't been announced" argument. That screen shot from Verizon absolutely confirms that the phone WAS scheduled for 2/14 and that it HAS been delayed.

I can see your point of view. I believe Vzw intended to launch the TB in Feb. For whatever reason, that didn't happen, but an official announcement has never been given. It's kind of a "chicken-egg" thing, IMO.

Just because it wasn't announced to the public doesn't mean an announcement was not made within.

All we know so far is that at least one tester has gotten the phone from VZW, he has post pics and information over on another forum (someone already linked the site). According to him the VZW rep said that the reason he did not get the phone earlier was because HTC has not sent them the sim cards. They now have the sim cards and he was told the release would be very soon.

He posted about that on Wed. I would say we seem to be in line with a release by the 10th but who knows anymore.

I know there has been some discussion on this point since this post. But, I have a different question. I've never used Android (obviously Sense either). Coming from blackberry, I have both a unified email inbox and the individual inboxes for each of my 4 different email accounts. I love that I have a different "tone"/alert for each so I instantly know, just from the tone, which email account just received. I also love glancing at the home screen and seeing all inbox icons with a number on each showing me how many unopened emails are waiting. Does anyone know if I will still have these features on the TBolt?

Quite honestly, I prefer the individual inboxes tot he unified idea. I do not know if the "unified" extends the inbox to include other incoming messages but I really prefer having all incoming messages completely separate so I can know, with one quick look, what type of msg arrived and also know which account it arrived into. If I had to lose an icon (for any reason) it would be the unified inbox. This may sound counterintuitive to you power-users but...

The only reliable inside information I've seen has been Black_man_x saying it's a go to strictly indicate the hardware is ready and Johnny at the other forum giving his impressions that that's true.

Everything else is subject to corporate whims.

I've no reason to doubt (or believe) past insider screen shots and statements - unless they're coming from the VZW CEO - even if it was accurate at the time, it's all subject to change.

No doubt we'll hear inside info on what the apparent holdup was after the release.

It totally sucks and the iP4 is out and getting preferential treatment - but it is what it is.

Whom did you promise? How did you announce it? Is there no latitude that you're dead and unable to respond?

the phone may have been delayed within the company, but as of yet no official word has been given to the public, key word being public. release dates are officially given when there is a 99.999999% chance that they will make that date. people getting upset over delays are just people who spend to much time on these forums, because technically there has been no release date that we, the public, could go off of.

I'm sure every company goes through tons of "release" dates within their higher ups. nothing official is ever given to the public until it is for sure though.

I don't use the new stuff yet - there's already a Bolt rom for the Evo, no doubt when the final article is out, I'll try that on my Evo if they hold up our Sense upgrade.

And no, you're not sounding counter-intuitive at all - I use both a unified and separate inboxes on my laptop, so I'd continue to use both.

Can't speak to the new client - on the old Sense client, the notifications were global to the app.

I can say that for each of your POP/IMAP accounts, you can set those to poll independently - so work mail updates often, family less so and then friends and mailing list less than those.

And each account has its own update schedule - so I update work frequently during work hours, then throttle it back during off hours.
