Root Need quick help, probably stupid mistake

OK, I used Titanium backup to uninstall the Twitter app entirely using the "exploit" and it rebooted and came back up with "!" in the triangle with an icon of the phone below it. What do I do now?

You are probably better off using the "Freeze" option in Titanium Backup rather then uninstalling. Freezing an app is the same as uninstalling except it lets you test out if it will affect your phone's operation. If your phone does not have any problems with freezing it then you can try to uninstall it knowing there are no problems with doing so.

The reason I want to delete it is to save internal hard drive space, so the freeze is good for testing, but not an end solution. It is the Twitter App, which can not be moved to SD that I can see. But, as you say, it might be so deeply embedded, that it can't be removed without doing damage somewhere.

Freezing an app may not free up internal memory, but as I said it will let you see if it affects other things before you remove it. After you know it is safe you can also try Root Explorer to remove it if TiBu doesn't work for you.

The screen with the triangle is the stock recovery. If you have the Droid 1 I would suggest considering flashing an alternate recovery like Clockwork Mod which would also allow you to make and restore back up images of your phone. This protects youj in case something bad happens when trying to alter your phone. You can get it by downloading ROM Manager from the market.

Thanks, Scotty, that is very useful. I had no idea I lost Clockwork every time I rebooted. When I get the time, I will follow your steps to stop that!

you are quite welcome. i cannot take credit for the file changing,however... it was just something i came across and did when i first rooted my droid and had the same issues with the yellow triangle :p
