Played with Atrix today at the At&t store. I am in no ways a phone snob but I have never held a smartphone that had so much power but whose build quality felt so cheap. It's not that it was plastic, but it was the cheapest type of plastic.

If the Droid Bionic build quality is like this I will regretfully have to turn it down because it definitely is not built to last.

So I'm guessing it was light?

It's probably made out of the same stuff the Galaxy S phones are. Its not cheap and poorly made. It's light, durable polycarbonate.

Some people seem to think cast iron must be better than titanium because its heavier. Stuff just doesn't work like that anymore.

I agree, and the CNET review above does say it is a heavier phone with a smooth backing. I imagine about the same weight as my Droid.

Thats the first time I heard the Atrix felt cheap.

Yes, it is plastic, but the whole thing is built well - it feels like a premium phone. Its not too light like the SGS phones. Almost all reviews for the Atrix touched on it being made of plastic but also said it felt like a high-end phone.

Same.. Someone at work got one and I played with it today. I thought it felt and operated rather nicely. I may re-think the Bionic. :)

Absolutly untrue to the OP, and to others bashing the Build Quality of the Atrix! I have the phone, and while the firmware is super sketchy, the Build Quality is very good. Its high grade plastic and feels completly solid....its very well made. And it does have some weight to it, I own the Fascinate, and the Atrix is heavier and feels great in the hand. I am definitely getting the Bionic. However this Atrix is going back because the firmware is terrible and at&t just plain suxx right now.
