Microsoft puts out WP7. Samsung takes it and ends up with:

Microsoft thinks; yeah we got a taker! great!
Then Samsung turns around and their latest Android phone now looks like:

according to Samsung:
"Content is King. Drop the apps and get direct access to your content through Samsung's new personalizable UX, a magazine style layout that selects contents that you use the most, your gallery, music, video, SNS, email, notes, games and weather then displays them on your main screen. This live content ecosystem can be customized to your taste and provides easy access to your contents. It updates in real time with all the information you desire from Music Hub, Readers Hub and Game Hub. Don't search for content, live it!"

Another observation: nobody will claim SGS2 looks like ios anymore

they have no idea how to create thier own good design.
so they try to copy anything that has anything that shows promise.
they are feeling in the dark.. hoping to stumble into something good.

same as Hyundai.. they like to copy any car design that has been complimented.

tiberon.. really??? you kidding right?

Not kidding. But let me clarify that I like the last Tiburon. The first Tiburon looked dorky as hell. It looked like a toy company made the body design or something. But the second generation (especially the 2006+ models with the addition of dual exhaust and other facelift tweaks) I thought was a nice base model sports car. Throw in a few aftermarket upgrades, and it looked very stylish IMO. For example...

It's still fail-wheel-drive...

to stay on topic, i really like that samsung main screen. Any idea if I would be able to get that on my Captivate easily, being within the family? Or are those sort of things phone specific?

At first I didn't get your point. You're pointing out that they made their UX look like Win7... right? I guess you're right, but I don't know why? It's not like everyone and their brother is flocking to Win7. Maybe... just to be different?

Doesn't matter, most people will just swap it out with LPP, ADW or GL XP anyway.

:D
Everyone always forgets to mention sweeterhome
