GPS option for the Nook

You don't have to call me out like that LOL :D

But yeah, it used cellular triangulation and wifi (for improved accuracy). Obviously the NC doesn't have the cellular radio so it's wifi only capability means it might be hampered if there are no wifi signals in range (or so I'm speculating).

Lol. I wasn't calling you out. I thought you were tricking me and testing my loyalty to Android. Some of you Mods are sneaky! :p

My understanding with this app, since the Nook doesn't have working bluetooth, I thought it basically did the same thing as Sharegps. Instead of bluetooth, it could share via wifi. So if you had an Android phone with GPS capabilities you can tether to the nook to make it think it had GPS.

(Yeah...those Mods are sneaky like that! Stay alert in here :D)

Ah, okay...so it works differently. But why would you want to tether the two devices together? Couldn't you just use the Android phone that has GPS for your navigation needs?

Perhaps if you were this guy, it would make sense...

Yeah I saw that. I think it's both crazy and cool at the same time. Looks pretty clean to me how he mounted that nook.

I agree with you, I don't see a need but it's just an option for people who don't use their phones for navigation because their screen is too small. You have a fascinate which has a pretty big screen and nice looking display so you can use your phone for navigation with no problem.
I think it's one more thing to add to the list of Nook capabilities now even if most people don't use it. :D

Yes, it's not as simple as plugging a USB GPS dongle but hey...at least it's something.

I agree with every thing you said, but please...don't use the word "dongle" again :D Don't ask me why...but that word seriously bugs me lol. I don't want to know the guy that came up with that word...I want to know who first told that lost soul "Yeah, that's a great name for it!" :)

Makes you feel rather sorry for the guy who could only come with a 3.5" floppy.

3.5" Floppy is nothing to be ashamed of, it's the guys with the 3.5" Hard Disk Drive that's too be embarrassed about. :p

Not as bad as I feel for the guy who created the thumbstick. DOH!

UB, see what you started!?! haha. You should have left the dongle alone! :p

You guys are cracking me up! I have to agree - I always thought "dongle" was a silly name. Then again, I told someone one time that they needed more RAM, and the guy next to me nearly choked on his drink. I was talking computers; evidently he was thinking about something else........
