I am not an expert in cell phone or rooting, however the Low Internal Memory is driving me nuts. I already did a factory reset 3 months ago, now the same problem came back. I know rooting the phone will void my manufacture warranty, but I guess I have no choice.

Can someone give me some advice? Is there any place I can go in the GTA area to have some expert or more experience people to root my phone?

Yes, same here. I managed to debrand, make goldcard, root and install various ROMS all with the help of folk on here. I wouldn't have managed otherwise. It is a little daunting and time consuming BUT worth it. If you try and get stuck folk are more than willing to help out and they got me out of trouble once or twice [quite a few more than that actually!! :) ].

its really pretty straight forward, and like what has already been said on here, there is loads of help, but dont let Lecter bully you :p, just read everything you can find, and then read it again! go and have a look at XDA Developers for lots of info and the different Roms available, ive some links in my sig, Mr SUroot is very helpful and is never off this forum :p, Rastaman is a very clued up guy, must mention Lecter again as he did help me a couple of times and then i cant forget Infernal byte and Hadron, you will always find some help if you need it!!

Thank you so much everyone for the encouragement. I will do my best to read through all the material before I act.

Should I get a back up phone while doing this? just in case?

I have another question. I got my Desire about 8 months ago, do you think I should root the phone now? Since rooting the phone will void the manufacture warranty, do you think is worth to do it now? or wait till the warranty is over?

Which ROM should I use?

Can I just Root the phone without doing the partition?
I have a 4G SD card, any suggestion what is the best way to partition it? should i do 2G?

You have to root the phone to be able to partition the card. Partition before flashing a Rom though. Use gparted to partition card. Apps2sd faq has step by step or lecter has video in Sig, but not watched it myself

1GB is easy enough

First do A LOT of reading about rooting and then look for a rom!

Once you're rooted and partitioned you can flash almost anything you like.

Go to xda to look at some roms.

Nothing really bad can happen when you root that can't be fixed! ;)

thanks guys! my friend trying to root the "one click" method on my phone last night but failed. he said make sure i have all the information ready, and all the apps must be able to support my phone before i start.

looking at the HTC Desire Root guide in this forum, one of the guide don't support HBOOT 0.93, that's why i want to make sure i am following the right guide

how do you guys manager the rooting? i will promise and make sure i follow the guide step by step

Hi experts, i am going to root my phone tonight. want to double check before i start

below is the info of my phone

BRAVO PVT3
HBOOT - 0.93.001
MICROP - O51D
TOUNCH PANEL - SYNW0101
RADIO - 0-5.09.05.30.2

am i good to go with your links?

how can i tell if my phone is SLCD or AMOLED?

You said you were from Toronto? Telus Desires are SLCD. My phone info is the same as yours, I rooted using unrEVOked, piece of cake. I haven't had the time to do a ROM yet, but I will soon, mainly to free up space for apps.

You can try South Pacific Mall. It is kinda infamous for jailbreaking/rooting etc.
But I suppose you can also follow the guids on here. :p
