Ok i made the mistake of deleting the mms.apk file from my rooted phone. I know stupid... well how do you put back on the mms.apk.. i used root explorer to find it on my sd card but it would not install...I am pretty computer savvy so if anyone could tell me exactly what i need to do.l have to fix this so i can send pictures and recieve pics... Thank you :(

okay if you really really wanna do this right and plan on messing with your phone quite abit then I have this suggestion (don't take this the wrong way I really want people/you to learn and also help others instead of taking shortcuts but i am not discrediting anyones methods this is what works for me and what I consider the best path)

1) above all else make a backup of your phone I made a backup of mine and it can be downloaded look in the first thread.
2) install adb fastboot and all the drivers. I made videos on this in the first thread.
3) Learn a couple adb commands it's simple then move forward
4) Google is awesome ......sometimes I usually search android forums, xda and android central and then google for questions that I don't know, and let me tell you when I first started I didn't know jack about android or linux and sometimes people are very very weird about answering questions or they don't want to.

if you do install adb and flash a custom rom just type this into command propmt
Code:
adb remount
adb push mms.apk /system/app
adb push mms.odex /system/app
adb reboot
and your done

P.S if you need any help with this at all let me know but but but you have to watch the videos first and I will be asking questions about it. Just because it's a video showing exactly what to do and I have had people pm me and ask me questions and come to find out they didn't even watch a video

Arghh, been using deodex'd roms for so long I forgot about the odex files. You need to copy that over to system/app too. If it's not backed up on the sd card (where I assume you found mms.apk), you'll need to extract it from a rom. I'd get it for you, but the nearest OptimusV I have access to is a state away currently.

I also have the same problem. I finally got it into my system file using Terminal Emulator and Ghost Commander. I have super user permissions and made up my own code to move it from sdcard to the system but it still won't install. It is where it needs to be but without my stocks sms/mms I can't download my pics. Believe me I have tried every way possible. Including putting in an APN that Sprint doesn't have. I need my stock mms to work. Adb won't load on my computer but I have way to enter codes on my phone but ones for computer don't work for phones.
