Accessories Xoom + Dock + Slingbox = Win

I installed the Slingbox app on my Xoom the other day, it's been working great. The addition of the dock I bought today and it's even more awesome! I have a Slingbox solo. The only thing I wish is that I could get a bit higher quality stream over WiFi, other than that it's working good.

Anyone else use a Slingbox?

Nice setup. Looks like my desk only I've got bigger monitors and no tablets yet. Man I wish I could afford some tablets. It'd be nice to have an iPad 2 and a xoom to complement each other. One can surely dream.

I have sling box HD. Its perfect for the Xoom. I'm actually using it more since I got the Xoom day one. The HD gives me almost perfect quality. Nice set up by the way.

Nook Color? No. If you mean the thing on the left, an iPad. The thing in front is just a beverage holder. I've been thinking of snaging a Slingbox HD. Does the quality improve inside the mobile app or just via the web browser?

Educate me on Slingbox. Do I need solo or HD or what? Never had one but after reading about them kinda getting tech envy. What is the best most economical box/setup to get?

it should. the HD dock (And im sure standard) comes with an insert you put in for cases. this is per the directions.. it didnt specify which case i believe...

Yeah, I have a PRO-HD at home, and the video looks really good on the Xoom, esp. since Sling updated the app to add the HD codec. (I have 5Mbit/sec upload at home, which helps.)

I've even mirrored it via HDMI to a bigger monitor, still looks pretty good, esp. on HD streams.

I am wondering - if Slingbox comes out with an App specific to Android Tablets - will I be able to get that automatically because I own the current android app? Or would I have to pay for a new app?

A related question is - If I buy the sling mobile app for Android - am I really buying the sling mobile app in general and can down load it on any device (ipod, android phone, tablet, etc?

The slingbox app for your phone will also work for the tablet.

If you buy it on Android it's only for Android, you would have to buy it again for the iPod version.

Thanks! I just don't want to down load it on my phone if it later restricts me from downloading it on my tablet (when I get one). My phone would not be my main viewing device. Similarly - I did not want to spend the $30 on it for the phone if they were going to come out with a special Android tablet app and I had to buy again. I don't really need it on my phone.

I don't know what the future looks like, but yeah I can confirm that today, the phone and tablet are the same

Yeah, that was a nice surprise. I bought Slingplayer Mobile for 2 Nokia phones, my iPod touch, and then my Droid X. $120! So it was great that I could get it on my NookColor and my Xoom without paying yet again.

I have the wifi xoom and use Wireless tether. And yes, i use the slingbox app on it. Just yesterday I was showing to a few folks while watching the masters and they were all saying how amazing the picture was.

Wonderful news.. I was concerned because for some reason mlb TV works fine using any wifi connection. But when I try it using hotspot via my nexus s for some reason it will not work.

you need to buy one... they get pricey too... question to those that have it.. my internet speed is about 8-9000 DL and about 1gb UL. Is that good enough

My question is this: I've recently upgraded my entire home theater. After rerunning it, I have my cablebox set to output through my HDMI to my receiver. Problem is, my slingbox doesn't have the ability to pass through HDMI. But, I don't want to lose my HD output to my TV just so the SlingBox will work.

So, what are my options? I see a Black "Digital Output" port on the back of the cablebox and Yellow "S/PDIF" ports on the back of the Slingbox Pro HD. Are these directly compatible?

As far as I know the slingbox pro HD doesn't support digital audio only RCA. I used the hdmi output for my home theater and just the component cable and rca (red and white) output for the slingbox. I have directv which have set top boxes that will allow output from hdmi and component at the same time. The signal doesn't have to be passed through the sling box just received so that it can be distributed. So you shouldn't need to rewire just add the component cables from the set top box to the sling box.

I have the Slingbox Pro HD and the 3.1 xoom. I successfully downloaded and installed the Sling Player Mobile from Android. Having problems!!! When I log inot Slingbox, it can not find the Android software I downloaded. Says to go to Android and downloaddd software. Did the uninstall and re-downloaded, same problem. Help if you can.
