So i rooted my new nook. Easy enough. Downloaded clockworkmod and a rom. put the rom on my sd card and then went into clockworkmod. Installed the rom from the sd card. Went to roboot system and it just keeps rebooting into clockwork mod. I cant get out of it no matter what it do. I tried the hold down power, N and + buttons and it still boots into clockwork mod. Help?

Honestly, I LOVE Rom Manager and CWM for my DInc. But, I HATE them for the NC. CWM only works from an SDcard in my experience. I have been put through many different forms of boot cycles.

When I got stuck in the one you're in, I had to do boot from a bootable CWM SDcard, wipe the entire system, Flash the stock NC software, and start over. Really, I've become an expert at doing this from having to do it like 3 times now. I can do the whole thing and have it re-rooted in less than 30 minutes. The longest time is when writing the image to the SDcards (not a long process, but everything else is pretty quick).

If you decide to pull the trigger and do this, follow the following link.

Had the same problem.

Do this:
1: Go here: [RECOVERY][ZIP] Nook Color Restore to stock - xda-developers and download #4 (the one to remove CMR and keep root).
2: Put the zip on your sd card (DON'T unzip it!)
3: Go into CWR and flash that zip (if you don't know how, just ask)
4: After that, CWR will be removed off of your NC
5: Reboot normally and download ROM manager and flash CWR (clockwork mod recovery)
6: Reboot, but DO NOT (I repeat, DO NOT) go into CWR, just reboot like normal
7: Now after you have rebooted, reboot into recovery

After that, you should be good...you can boot in and out of recovery.

Apparently you have to have a normal reboot after you flash CWR before you can boot into recovery or you won't be able to get out. I spent around 4 hours with this damn thing trying to figure it out...hope this helped!

You need to remove your SD card after you flash your ROM otherwise you will keep booting into CWM. NC's are designed to boot from SD first.

Pretty sure folks are talking about CMR loaded into eMMC, so the SD card being in is a non-issue. The problem, as outlined above, is that CMR requires a clean reboot after flashing BEFORE you boot into Recovery; otherwise it just keeps booting into Recovery from eMMC and there's no way out of it (other than booting a different image from SD and/or performing the steps above).

Here's sort of the issue as well. ROM Manager flashes the wrong version of CWR.
You need to load one of the latest versions to run any ROM with an ext4 filesystem.

Plenty of threads over at XDA that discuss the issue more in-depth.

Excuse me but would you have a link for the latest clockwork mod or could you tell me the release number so I can check mine? I just rooted a friends NC and downloaded ROM manager but I haven't done anything else yet. Once I flash the recovery how do I reboot a NOOK? Thank you for your time.
